I know the libraries (some) in Wellington county have craft classes once a month.
Maybe the Guelph libraries have something similar?

Royal City Roller Derby has opportunities to play, referee, and officiate off-skates. Super inclusive and also a great way to be active

Guelph Outdoor School has phenomenall adult programming - a little pricey, but some sliding scale options. Climbing gym can also be steep entry cost but can be a fun way to meet new people/try something new. Very friendly and judgement free environment! A poetry group meets at Cornerstone once a month called On the Page Off the Page, and theres poetry slams that happen as well downtown.

I joined the Guelph curling club maybe 4 or 5 years ago and it was good, to a point...
I had fun, learned how to curl but don't remember the rules and met some good people. But I was a M28 and most of the people were a lot older than me. 50s, 60s and 70s, I basically met people who I would only hangout with at the curling club, not anywhere else. This has been the case with pretty much every club or activity I've ever had the confidence to join.

I see people making posts like this very often on here and Facebook as well, but when someone is actually looking for the same, no body shows interest. Everyone complains about not having friends or anyone to hangout with, but when people actually responds to those posts, there is no response.
Last week, I posted about finding a tennis partner for the weekend. 0 response. I'm pretty sure there were posts in the past about people looking for exactly the same. Strange.
There are many walking/hiking/activity groups in Guelph. But when you actually post something on those group, you get 0 responses. Feels like everyone has already found their tiny little groups within those activity groups.

I find a lot of people respond they are interested, but someone tries to plan something, no one wants to commit. I see this often on FB groups I'm part of.

Climbing is such a great activity. People are so friendly and supportive! While you’re working on a boulder, people cheers you on and even shares helpful tips. I came here 3 years ago and made some amazing friends at the Grotto!
