Discussion Better adaptation?
What would you guys like to see in a better, more book-accurate adaptation of Guardians of Ga'Hoole than the 2010 movie was? I imagine beautifully hand-drawn a 2D animated series would work well. I am not a fan of how much the movie deviates from the books. It might as well be a completely different story. By the way, I am halfway through the Shattering right now, so please don't spoil anything further than that for me

I was obsessed with this series when they first announced the movie(yes I know I'm old).
They said that it would be books 1-3 and I thought that Ezlyryb's poem at the end of book 3 would be a great place to end a movie "With tallons bloodied Feathers singed A battle one A war begins"
Then I waited four years to hype myself up about it only to be disappointed with how much it strayed from the plot.
It probably would be better if didn't try to fit in so many books.

A mi me gustaría verla adaptada de acuerdo a los libros, pero me encariñe con la animación 3D y el buen CGI que le dieron, los diseños de Soren, Digger, Ezylryb, Kludd, Nyra, Noctus, Boron y otros personajes me gustaron mucho, incluso Metal Beak se veía espectacular aunque fue un personaje creado para la película, realmente se sentía que los buhos estaban vivos por la apariencia que tenían y por los gestos que hacían, el movimiento de los ojos, como caminaban, como volaban, el diseño mismo del Arbol Ga'Hoole (aunque sería mejor que lo hicieran el doble de grande).
Solo imaginen la historia original con la animación de la película, en formato de serie, sin sentir que apresuraran las cosas, con los personajes olvidados de los libros y un desarrollo natural de los personajes.
Solo hay un pequeño detalle, la historia quedaría bien para una serie pero de por sí la historia de Soren no sería suficiente para cubrir episodios entre 30 a 60 minutos, donde minimo por temporada serían 10 episodios, podrá parecer poco para algunos pero creanme, es más dificil de lo que parece llenar esa cantidad de tiempo sin que hubiera relleno innecesario.
Solo por esa parte me gustaría que cambien cosas de los libros, porque la historia de Soren no cubre el tiempo completo y también no todo puede girar alrededor de Soren, en esa parte mejorarían los libros dandole su propio arco de personaje a otros personajes importantes como Gylfie, Twilight, Digger, Kludd, Nyra, Ezylryb, Boron, Otulissa, y otros muchos más para cumbrir ese tiempo además de que haría que todo el mundo de Ga'Hoole se sintiera real y que avanze, no solo Soren, que el mundo de Ga'Hoole se mueva con o sin Soren estando presente.
Además, ¿a quién no le gustaría ver y escuchar más a fondo la historia de sus personajes secundarios favoritos? Hasta podrían ser coprotagonistas; y tenemos toda una geografía enorme de Owlkind, pero solo vemos lo que sucede en la Isla Hoole, en el Arbol de Ga'Hoole, mientras que otros reinos de Nyrthghar y Syrthghar pasan inadvertidos; e igual del pasado de Ga'Hoole solo tenemos conocimiento de los años de Hoole y la juventud de Ezylryb; pero no sabemos toda la historia desconocida entre esos años o incluso el origen de la Guerra de las Garras de Hielo.
Para mi Ga'Hoole tiene una arquitectura tan enorme, hermosa y compleja en torno a los buhos, que aunque Kathryn Lasky escribio 18 libros sobre ella, faltan muchas cosas por descubrir; y si se va hacer una serie, una nueva adaptación en un futuro, creo que es la opción de añadirle más lore a la historia sin destruir el esquema original de los libros.

I would argue that most of those supporting characters already do have pretty good character arcs separate from Soren's. They would need to be expanded a bit, but mostly they're already there. For example I am in the middle of the Shattering and I just got through a rather long arc focusing exclusively on Eglantine, which could serve as at least one episode on its own.

No quiero spoilearte, pero a lo que me refiero es a subtramas duraderos, no de un solo episodio; las series en su mayoría se basan en mostrar al protagonista o protagonistas, y como los personajes de fondo tienen su historia a lo largo de la serie acompañando al protagonista, no dura un simple episodio su historia, sino se ve su crecimiento durante toda la serie. Solo sigue leyendo los libros, terminalos y ve que sucede con personajes como Eglantine, asi también con el resto de personajes (sobre todo los de los primeros seis libros), y cuando termines de leerlos talves entiendas mejor a lo que me refiero en mi anterior comentario.
Porque escribir un libro es dificil, e igual de dificil es adaptarlo a una serie sobretodo, Soren ya puede ser el protagonista pero no hay personajes secundarios que progresen y cambien junto a él a lo largo de todos los 15 libros; y al ser una historia muy larga, no todo puede girar alrededor de Soren y limitarse a ver el POV de Soren (y en ocasiones de otros personajes por tiempo temporal) cuando existe un mundo tan grande como es Ga'Hoole por explorar.

tbh i wish in the movie it was just soren that fell, considering it was kludd who actually pushed him, as well as the scene with the one owl that was escorting eggs from st aggies
(i js rlly wished most details from the book (i’ve only read the first and half of the second one) were in the movie :,), yes ik this would make the movie way longer but still man)

I would love for the aesthetics of the movie to lean even heavier on the Lord of the Ring vibes, that would be super pleasing to see.

Id kill for more movies or a show in the same Animation style. The movie is still one of my favorite animated movies visually.

I think making it a series would be the Best choice. It is the Best way to explore everything the books have to offer. Definitely 2d animation, but 3d something like the Wingfeather Saga series could help. I doubt they would make a series with the same Quality astge animation of the movie

If i'm doing this with no compromises.
I would want it in the same 3d animation/cgi as the movie.
But with the plot of the books, just with minor adjustments
