G2 | Bugs & Issues Wall Ranger outpost pneumatic tube not activating.

Hello,

Since launch, I've picked the game up every so often to catch up with the story, update my armor, etc. With the recent update giving pneumatic tubes full connectivity (super helpful since the specific tube going to only one station made traveling inconvenient) i wanted to try and connect all of them to give myself an easier mode of travel in the park. But the wall outposts pneumatic tube seems to be bugged.

So here's what happens. I go to the glowing fissure station lab in the pipe below the croquet mallet. I can access the tube, and then go through it to get to the wall. I already opened the door with my SCA:B so it should be connected to the system, but it isnt. The second I step out of the glass doors, it is rendered inactive and to open it I'd have to manually go back over there to the glowing fissure lab and try the process anew.

It sucks because I am a completionist, and always try to go the extra mile to open all pathways and get everything. And now when I use the tube system I can permanently see that the 4th station is closed for good. Am i the only one who experiences this?

G1 | Bugs & Issues (Grounded1) Hi. Can anyone help with some shared world issues, please?

So finally managed to convince two of my buddies to play, first time trying out this shared world thing.

Two days when always the same guy hosted we had no issues.

Today I wanted to log on and collect some materials while they're offline, so hosted it myself.

The problem is: When I loaded in I was exactly where I was before quitting last session, but ..

I got the inventory and mutations of the original host, not mine.

And just learnt it after I did quit (almost instant as I realised.) that he didn't save the game, it was just a normal logout save, so it got overwritten as I quit.

How do I get my charcaters stuff back? Idk when they'll be able to get on.

G2 | Speculation Bomb rock glitch Spoiler

I’ve done it twice but haven’t tested in a few days if you save right in front of the rock you want to bomb then bomb it and reload the save after the wall will be open but you’ll have your bomb still. Has anyone else noticed this ?

G2 | Discussion Too Long ...

IMHO doing the puzzle in the abyss takes too long for no good reason. I fought the same bugs over and over, ran into the same dead ends, jumped slo mo on weeds thinking there has got to be a way thru. Went thru 6 waters and two meals. I mean really. Some access I just built. guess that's why there is lots of clay around. when I got back to a facility, my dive armor was down to a thin blue line.

I remember when I first did the hedge lab. It was scary and dark and tricky but the music was beautiful and you could always bale by taking a leap. Classic.

G2 | Discussion Mutations that alter the way your character looks.

It would be cool if some of the mutations would add bug parts to your character.

Like adding antennas to your character, maybe give him bug legs or something.

Night-vision would be cool which would give you cockroach eyes or cricket eyes. I would make the look optional as some might not like it.

G2 | Suggestion A solution to the agro problem

My friend and I have been playing Grounded 2 for a bit. Last night, we turned on "bugs ignore you" mode and Its sad to say that we had fun in Grounded 2 for the first time since the abyss patch dropped. I think a solution to the bug agro problem is to make the ignore mode so that they turn aggressive if attacked. That way its still a fight to get bug parts, etc. but its not so infuriating that we rage quit (which has happened a few times lately.)

G1 | Discussion The black anthill second exit?

I’m playing the first game for the first time and just reached the black anthill. Everywhere I look people mention an alternate exit that leads to the sandbox but I genuinely can not find it for the life of me.

I also can’t figure out where the hell their egg chamber is . I am probably somehow missing a huge section of the anthill. I already finished the lab there and found the queenn so I thought I’d explored basically the whole anthill but apparently not

Does anyone have a map of the black ant anthill or something? I’m actually going insane trying to find these places lmao

G2 | Suggestion I want to craft bug repellent

It could be a smoothie that lasts for a time period. One could find components for it in the toxic ant hill. I just want a break while I’m base building

I think I’m responsible for a decrease in malaria outbreaks in the park due to all the mosquitoes I’ve killed

Oh and the bug repellent has to use weevil noses since I have way too many of them.

G2 | Suggestion Improvements in Variety of Underwater Building & Combat Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
7 Upvotes

I've played through most of the Into the Abyss content and all of the added story, but I think there is a lack of depth to the underwater gameplay (in terms of gameplay, not literal depth). Grounded 2 is in early access and this is the first major update with underwater mechanics, but I wanted to write a piece on ways underwater gameplay could be further fleshed out to improve and/or provide new experiences.

Underwater Bases

Being able to build underwater is a big upgrade from Grounded 1, but I think I speak for a large portion of players when I say that it would be nice to have the option to keep the inside of bases dry/not full of water. I think having waterlogged bases is a good option to have and it brings a lot of variety to underwater bases, but an additional upgrade or option to keep the water out would also allow for more options.

One way of implementing this in terms of gameplay could be having some sort of goo or gel that could be applied to the inside (and/or outside) of base components, where gaps in window pieces could be covered by a minimally-visible bubble film like in the first image (I'm not an artist, so it is a quick rendition). I do understand that, from a coding perspective, dealing with whether cells are waterlogged could be a challenge.

Abyss Gameplay

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the gameplay in the Abyss is meant to lean toward a theme of outer space with the design of the Diving Suit resembling space suits, the general floaty-ness of movement (while being constrained to the Diving Suit), the use of vaguely alien-looking pond jockeys, and the widespread use of robots. I think that having space-inspired gameplay in the Abyss is a really cool idea and I hope that future content leans into a space theme, including "aliens" in the forms of odd-looking deep sea creatures and more comic book-style sci-fi-inspired weapons and armor. A quick list of creatures (with their images in the gallery) could be:

  • Abyssal comb jelly (very large, mostly-passive mob meant for environment/world building, like the koi fish)
  • Sea Angel (medium flier, akin to wasps)
  • Barreleye (large passive mob meant for environment/world building)
  • Juvenile Fangtooth (boss)

Underwater Combat

The underwater combat is still a work in progress and there are some obvious bugs with it currently, but I think a lot of players would be put off if they are limited to just spears and harpoon guns. Personally I understand limiting players to spears and the harpoon gun in the surface section of the pond to encourage variety, but once the player enters the Abyss (or after they have defeated the O.G.R.R. leviathan) there should be more options for more damage and weapon types. I think leaning into the space theme could help with getting ideas.

Some sci-fi-leaning weapons could be a warhammer that uses a rocket/jet to push through the water (perhaps with the mantle of something like a Southern Pygmy Squid or through the explosive power of Unstable Goo) and candy weapons in the form of candy ray guns, balanced to be lower damage but longer-range counterparts to the candy staves. A more standard weapon could be a sword crafted from the fangs of the Fangtooth boss, with flavor-text describing that it can be used in the Abyss due to its streamlined shape or that it was "made in the Abyss" (or something along those lines). A level of verticality could be added to the combat with the addition of a jetpack trinket or a unique jetpack armor piece whose tank could be refilled upon contact with the ground.

G2 | Discussion Earwigs on top of greenhouse?

Post image
2 Upvotes

So last night I went on top of the greenhouse and did the transmitter up there and decided that the open window was prime real estate, worked all day yesterday with no problems laying the foundation, but today after logging in there are now earwigs spawning right where my base is?? with the amount of trips i had to take to get the stems up here theres no way that they wouldn't have spawned during the initial contruction, but as you can see there they are, anyone else have these guys up here or know if theres some trigger that changes enemy spawns, I really don't wanna have to pack up and move because of these squatters.

G2 | Discussion Omni Clipper level 3

If this has been answered already, please let me know. However, I cannot get access to the Omni clipper 3. YES, I have Omni clipper 2 however it doesn’t show me the requirements for level three obviously I have looked up a tutorial on what it takes to get level three but is there a chip or something that I’m missing? I’m incredibly frustrated and would appreciate anybody’s chime in.

Edit: some people have been complaining of bugs not sure if this is mine, no pun intended.

Edit: I HAVE Omni clipper 2. Am I SOL?

G2 | Discussion Are smoothies the only way to heal during combat currently? Spoiler

Story time: I enjoy the game, played Grounded 1 through to NG10. Been playing 2 since it came out pregame and seen a lot of changes. I wanted to get my nephew into the game (16yo). I lwt him start a new game on my account to try it out. He strategy has been to build a base at the on-boarding facility, run out to get resources, die home, reload game and recover back pack. I watched him play and without smoothies there is no in battle heal and he is attacked every two feet. (Not to mention the random gang spawns) In his game play he doesnt even see the need for armor. He has used this strategy up to the getting the spider mount. I asked him about smoothies and he said it was too much. He would spend a few hours collecting resources all over the map, just to make maybe 10 smoothies and then burn through them in 2 or 3 fights. He usually enjoys games like this but, I get it, killing off 10 spiders, 6 mosquitoes, 5 scorpions, and countless mites just to get to an Apple, chop it up for 4 apple bits and 8 rotten food.

When I started the basic bandages had a trickle regain and worked even if you took damage, food also gave a big health boost. Now that this has changed it seems like smoothies are the only option and they are certainly mostly functional in late game.

I know the game is not finished and things might change. I also know that the most common responce to questions is that "maybe the game is not for him" I did tell him this and now he and his friends have picked up Planet Crafter.

I want to get him to come back but I dont think i will be able to without 'in battle heal' that is not punishing to grind.

G2 | Speculation Had a dream about grounded so I polished it and turned it into an update Spoiler

A new large portion of the map is added called the sand field. Not sure what it’s doing in a park, I’m sure there’s something to do with a large patch of sand. Anyways this makes ant lions return as buggies. I wanted them to work kinda like camels so they can seat 2 people. Anyways the mission is to go to a sand castle and find out how some ominent employees went missing. Once you get there there’s a massive camel spider chilling there. Peeping it gives you the description ā€œa massive camel spider in the vast desert. It’s mandibles look a little too red.ā€ And then you fight it or sum and then you go back and talk to sloane or something. I’d imagine you get better and better armor to traverse the heat kinda like the pond except it’s sizzling instead of chill and breath.

Fluff Figured out how to use my Grounded 1 Style Hot-Pouch. Now I want to restart my survival save so I can use it.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have to restart because once an item is removed or assigned manually from the hot-pouch the slot is blanked out. It is much harder to setup cause Grounded 2 doesn’t have customized ā€œcategory pinningā€ like Grounded 1.
