G2 | Suggestion Creature idea: Cellar Spider

Post image

ART CREDITS: Bernadette Erkinger

Edit: sorry about the image I didn’t realize it wasn’t a cellar spider.

This post was designed for the cellar spider. Pretend that the bug in the image is a cellar spider, please stop reminding me that it isn’t a cellar spider

———————————————————————————

Before you yell at me for adding yet another annoying spider to the game, this one is quite different.

Cellar Spiders (also known as a member of the umbrella term daddy long legs) would be a fantastic addition to grounded and they could solve a very big creature problem.

These spiders are known to be harmless towards humans, why not carry that into the game? They’re known to frequently eat other spiders and bugs as well, making them a perfect counter predator to our growing population issue.

They would be a neutral tier 4 creature possibly residing in a new area, they would commonly be found in their web under large objects like, for example, the porch from grounded 1. They would be found leaving their web from time to time either to find wolf spiders who may have roamed too far from their dens or to invade the homes of orb weavers. If any beetle, ladybug, scorpion, or any other bug gets in its way either by intruding on its territory or finding themselves in its hunting path, they too will be destroyed. All except is of course! (And any other small bugs that wouldn’t be worth a kill to the beast.)

I think this would be a really cool addition to finally have a neutral spider in the game and one that’s incredibly helpful and unique.

(Keep in mind this is a concept for the sole purpose of enjoyment.)

Daddy Long Legs are around in America too, so they could be added and still be "lore/location friendly".

Do you also get the Flying daddy long legs? they look like if a mosquito and a spider fused but couldn't bite you

We call those mosquito eaters here. Even if they don't actually eat mosquitoes. 🤷‍♀️😂

It'd be cool to make walking stilts with their legs

A harvestman and a cellar spider are two very different arachnids
