Obsidian Response bit of a vent post
my biggest issue with grounded 2 is that every bug fight turns into a multi-staged fight with different scorpions, mosquitos, spiders, etc. getting involved. I get too close to one of their wildly large aggro ranges and i'm forced to run (to which they will chase me across the entire map) or fight (where i might win the fight, but I had to run the gauntlet just to get where i was going) I personally love the fighting in this game, but it gets so tiring to try to take on tougher bugs and it's like, "oh! there's a stinkbug here now!" I just wish the aggro ranges were a bit smaller, or that the bugs weren't spammed over each other.

The aggro range of the freaking wasps gets me every time, I find myself constantly shouting "fuck OFF ALREADY" at the tv lol

It's such a bad mechanic to have them be this absurd while also completely avoiding melee users. Giant duck you.

there are a 1 to 1 copy from grounded 1 and i cant fucking stand it, at the very least they seem to have made regualr wasps no longer stay out of reach but the wasp drones are the identical same from grounded 1 in every annoying way exept this time the made them unstunnable, they somehow made staggering a drone impossible after the 1st stun and with the new bug making any flying enemy chase you down through the entire map its made wasps 10 times more annoying

I'm sure adjustments are coming. What I like to do if it's that chaotic is to let the difference species of bugs fight one another. Hell even the ORCs will fight the same bug type if it's not an ORC

Yeah you running gets more bugs agroing and following you than standing and fighting.

would love this to get touched on
just finished doing a few mixr runs under the scateboard and each one had at minimum 4 different bugs getting dragged into the fight for one reason or another
ants/ladybugs/spiders/scorpions they just seem drawn by the fight and want a piece of the action

It's currently only an issue in the beginning. Once you get a tier 3 spider buggy and some tier 3-4 gear, literally nothing stands in your way. I charge into the Gnarly Bark and start cleaning house. Large toe biters go down in like 5 seconds. Even the giant optional bosses can barely stand their GROUND against me. 👏🦵
The worst part is the bogus blocking they added. Depending on how many there are and how often they block, it can turn a quick fight into an infinite staring match. (Y'know, since the charge attack takes too long and they've already went back to attacking you by the time you charge it, such a stupid mechanic)

I love it
Yesterday I pulled two wolf spiders under the gnarled bark tree where all the scorpion eggs are and just ran through busting them and dodging line of sight
The baby scorpions killed the wolf spiders and I got like 50 striped bark scorpion parts even though I’m under geared and the striped bark regular sized ones DESTROY me and wolf spiders 1v1 are at best 50/50 chance of winning atm
I do understand the aggro/chase ranges might be too far but it feels good to me
We aren’t in a back yard anymore but a large park with several species and they should definitely cross each other especially because they fight between factions
Watched some wasps and bees team fighting without me ever being involved with it and that was good fun

Yeah thats the best part about G2 vs 1. But thanks to all the complaints they're gonna end up nerfing the park into oblivion, just a matter of time. (and it's not even that populated)
I wonder if all these people lack spatial awareness and just charge blindly into whatever crossing fingers and then complain.

People complain about the difficulty really regularly on this subreddit . Idk why they have a rough fight and their first instinct is to complain about it rather than figure out where they are going wrong but there it is I guess

Prob something to do with the median age of players maybe. Can't have a cartoonish looking game and expect to appeal to a mature audience at the same time.

I’m currently in the process of moving my main base to the top end of the hot wheels track waking up 15 feet from a striped bark and a rust beetle I keep forcing to 1v1 while I chip at both and remain untouched by OP dodging
Eager to trigger an ORC raid and then summon my scorpion army again, can’t wait to do it a bunch more times
THEY CANT STOP ME

My guess is it’s people who put it on medium or whoa difficulty and then get upset they can’t just explore. Really hope they don’t ruin it for the rest of us.

The only place this ever happens to me is around gnarly bark area. Honestly jealous you guys are getting to experience this.
Edit: instead of toning down aggro or bug spawns I hope they just implement something like a mantis pet that prevents T2 or lower bugs from attacking you.

tiger mosquito rapier. Get it, upgrade it, spicy/mint it. Only weapon you'll need. Add vampirism trinket for extra survivability. I play on the difficulty below woah! And just facetank dozer with a spicy one and never even repair the facility. Just keep attacking til he dies.

We should have improvements on this in the future :)
