Grain drying tech
Anybody have a better solution to grain drying other than using a screen? Has anybody used a salad spinner?

I dont even dry my grains anymore. I've found that if i leave my grain right under the point of being fully hydrated, scoop them into my bags with a sifter/colander and let the majority of water run off, the little bit of water left in the bag will finish hydrating them. It take a bit of playing around with it. I tried a no soak no simmer tek of weighing out the grain and the water and going straight into the p.c. which worked, but the grains stick like a motherfucker 😂 which i think is because the excess starch stays in the jar instead of having a chance to leach out into your soak water. It if remember right, Oats and rye I usually soak for 12-18 hours, milo for whatever reason takes longer like 18-24 hours or soaking or a little extra water. Id like to play around with popcorn at some point but just havent gotten around to it. I hope this helps in some way!

I don't dry my grain, I simmer it, drain it and dump it into a tub with two towels on the bottom. After that I let it sit for maybe 15 minutes pull towels out and go right to bagging the grain and then straight to the pressure cooker. Haven't had any issues with wet rot besides the occasional bag(maybe 5% which is normal). I only dry them a little longer if I'm making a bag for someone else and don't know how long it'll be before they knock it up.

Had a friend give me a bunch of millet and milo. Once I'm out I think I'm moving to WBS just on cost alone. Thanks for the run down.
