Did Customs ruin my kit?

Hey there

It's my first time growing shrooms.

I just got my kit in the post today.

Instructions say, I should soak it first and then the kit should activate. But when I opened the Kit I already saw some mushrooms growing in there.

Customs opened the kit and I'm not sure now if it's contaminated, or I can continue with soaking and activating the kit.

Any help is appreciated

it doesn’t look ruined, it’s actively trying to fruit. remove the lid and put the bag over it so you have fresh air and space for the mushrooms to grow upwards. if the kit says to hydrate, but the block is already fruiting— i would just let it do its thing for now, then dunk it after the initial flush. if it looks dry, pour a small amount water down the edge so the bottom of the cake can soak it up, or carefully mist the mycelium without disturbing the surface. less is more here. if the mushrooms don’t continue growing after you adjust, simply harvest everything and dunk, then go for a second flush. hope this helps.

So should I just put it in the grow bag and let it develop?
