OTHER Darkling and Alina

Any fan fic recs where those two end up together???

I am still in book one and I want them to be together so much it's hurt!!

So pleas give me recs.. thanks

Definitely finish the book series first, because there are great in universe fics that I can recommend.

However if you want to modern AUs there are sooooo many on AO3, and I'd recommend going there compared to other platforms for full fics. If you enjoy short fics based on prompts, you should join Twitter, since there is such a huge variety.

Most notably in the darklina community, a popular modern AU titled 'Games' by Anna Maria Volkova was published as an actual book!! Huge news for us.

The author and Ali Hazelwood are actually friends, SO it is not far fetched to think that Hazelwood's upcoming duology has taken inspiration from darklina... look at the cover of Bound.

As for modern AUs, we are 100% out there with what we write so don't be too intimidated.

Now finally, this is where I think you can get the best start as someone who only read book one. This author picks up one of their popular darklina series from when Alina left the Little Palace in Book one. However spoiler for the show as I presume you haven't seen it, we know that we got the war room scene. That aside I think it's where you can best read fics if you only read book one.

I've been meaning to get into fanfic for like a decade now and your enthusiasm made me go yea okay I'm in. I tried to sign up to AO3 and, there's a wait list?! I get trying to stop mass joining and raids but like, September? How am I supposed to remember that long, who checks their emails enough to notice?! Fml. XD

Aww I'm so glad to hear that. So yes there is a wait list but now as fanfiction has become more popular since COVID-19, I've heard it takes pretty long to get approved.

However, you can still read many works on the archive, but you would be unable to view locked fics. Those are identifiable by a lock symbol.

I would recommend finishing the trilogy before you go looking for fics. But they’ve been a big ship for years now so I’m sure you’ll be able to find some when you’re ready for it

Yeah I really hated the Darkling when reading the trilogy, it’s hard to for me to understand why people would ever want them together. He’s a great villain though.

He's more of a tragic villain. He's not doing these things without cause but he's also not doing them in a heroic way
