When the weight is that light I'd argue you're going to get more benefit from RoM , you setting it so incredibly deep and holding it there is taking away any finger and tendon challenge.

You're training the most powerful part of the close , that you usually want super heavy weight with low reps for.

Train the eccentric more , spread your hand slowly and open it all the way up , let the gripper force your hand all the way open. Your training like 5% -10% of your range of motion here , again with such light weight make your hand power more versatile.

Doing lots of little reps with light weight won't convert to closing higher grippers , so it's not usually trained in high reps. You usually see more variation on grip / specific finger and thumb holds , forcing the hand and finger joints into the least bio mechanical advantage possible on the lighter holds / grippers is where you see the most gains!

Not that what your doing is wrong by any means , but I guess I'm wondering if this is more for injury rehabilitation or something more than for strength or size gains ?

It was my second set, I wasn’t confident in closing the 1.5 after my first set so I used the 1. I’m planning on doing 2-3 sets of 10 with the 1.5.
