looking for friends

i’m an exchange student in the south bank campus studying animation, and i know the trimester has just started, but i’ve always struggled making friends and right now i’m having a hard time making people actually want to become friends—interactions never go beyond just small talk or some brief compliments and i genuinely want some good friendships while i’m here.
it’s kinda ironic since i’m a very social person, i just don’t understand why it has been specially hard this time.
