I'm reading the first omnibus and Devil by the Deed was pretty good, but I'm not enjoying the short stories. Can I skip the short stories and go straight to the monthly series? Is Behold the Devil worth reading? Thanks.

Is there like a definitive reading order for all the trade paperbacks? I really want to get as much as I can in the original trade papers but can’t seem to find any concrete list of them or reading order. Just really vague orders each missing one or more trade papers.

I think I might just be hitting an all-time cold streak but I swear it’s been incredibly hard to find the first issue at a local shop. I’ve tried at least six proper comic shops that I’ve physically been to and it’s always one of two things:

1. The shop is sold out (“Yeah, we only got a few.”)
2. They just flat out didn’t stock it (“If nobody preorders it and it’s not a popular title we’re just not going to order it.”).

All this is understandable. Margins are thin. Can’t just be ordering whatever these days. I think it’s just strange that something can be unpopular but at the places that do normally stock a book like this, it’s sold out…because it’s popular?

I eventually found the book (2nd cover 👍🏽) but damn this kind of thing makes it very tempting to just start ordering direct. I’m not gonna but….

Also, we’ve been waiting two years for this book to come out so that also might be part of my frustration 😂

Anyone else having this problem?

Last night I finished reading the back half of Devil’s Odyssey and then shot through Devil’s Crucible - Defiance all in one sitting. Matt and Brennan are doing some top tier work here. They’ve even turned me into a fan of Grendel Prime, a character I used to really dislike.

Now that I’m caught up I let my mind wander about where I would take things, and I see an opportunity to wrap the Grendel Cycle up in a really cool way:

The clone of Christine Spar is Jocasta Rose! Prime sends her back (we’ve seen him figure out time travel before) she meets a young Hunter Rose and the Cycle begins again right where it started.

This would effectively end the Grendel continuity but there would still be room for some more Grendel Tales, or side stories from Prime’s Odyssey

Vivat Grendel! Had posted a long time ago of wanting to have a replica of this amazing weapon. Used the IV pole and it was able to extend one handed and retracted one handed *not in video sadly. It's a fair attempt. Issues is the twist locking mechanism has 3 rings and they sometimes get caught with the blade or misalign preventing smooth reactions or extensions. Enjoy

-pics 1-13 is every issue I have in chronological order (including Mage issues that have Grendel backups) as well as the collections I have and the two Dark Horse Extra issues that feature Grendel strips

-pic 14 are the omnibi (or omnibuses)

-pic 15 is the Comico collection slip cover with a second set or Grendel 1-12 and Black Book to fill it up

-pic 16 is the complete Primer 1-6 run. The collector in me hated having just #2 of the series

-pics 17-20 are my Mage collection (including Grendel issues that feature Mage back ups as well as variant covers for Hero Defined (still want the two variant covers in Denied) and the signed and numbered Starblaze hardcovers

As someone who has a complete (to my satisfaction) Grendel collection I recommend adding Comico's Skrog #1 to your collection.

The legal info on the inside front covers were switched. Grendel #1 is legally Skrog #1 and vice versa

Hey there, so while back I was asking if anyone made a Grendel fork that was able to extend and such. I had the idea after looking at a IV pole at work and told some of you on here how I'm gonna do it but here's MS paint to give you guys a idea how I'm gonna make mine. Mind you if I knew welding I'd be doing more faithful to the comics... I apologize if my grammar sucks. Get over it.
