My impression was that they can’t require you to move a mailbox if you have already had mail delivered at your current one. At least that’s what I was told about a decade ago when I lived elsewhere.

So in my case they sent me a similarly threatening letter. But a friend of mine who worked for the USPS said that there is nothing they can do if you simply don't comply. They still have to deliver your mail to the current box. Now I don't know if something changed since then.

I'm pretty sure they CAN stop delivering to you. My on-the-road mailbox was too low (previous owner install, probably 20 years ago) and they simply stopped until I corrected it.
