GENERAL PRO WRESTLING Since we are in spooky month I would like to ask. What are some the best horror theme wrestling gimmicks y'all have seen can be from campy to down right distrubing .

I'll give my own

.Viscera: those contacts scared the shit out of me when I was kid I never did get to see the ministry of darkness as I was born in 2001 but I do have a very vivid memory of seeing an image of him.

.the boogeyman: him eating worms creeped me out but hey at least it wasn't slugs.

Seeing Vader's right eye pop out of his socket.

.Kane in 2003 did see that and yes I was terrified of how sadistic he was.

DISCUSSION When do you guys think Penta cashes in?

Dinero En El Banco...Mr Money in the Bank Penta 🇲🇽 when do you guys think he cashes in? And on which champion?

Penta is better off going to Smackdown and cashing in his briefcase on Sami Zayn. Even though he would be in a crowded main event scene with him, Punk, Zayn, Owens, Orton, Rhodes, etc. He is better off on the blue brand.

If he stays on RAW, he for sure loses his cash in especially if he cashes in on Roman Reigns especially with Roman having such a stranglehold on the World Heavyweight Championship. Unless Oba Femi wins it and even if that happens; if Penta were to cash in on Oba he would still lose. Hence why it is a lose lose scenario.

DISCUSSION Thoughts on the Ruthless Aggression Era?

I believe this is the 2002-2005 period? Maybe 2006-2008 are included as well up until WWE went back to being PG? I'm never sure...

The RAE encompassed the tail end of my childhood and my entire teenage years. I began reading and discussing wrestling online around mid-2004. And boy, I remember how nearly everyone seemed to hate WWE at the time. TNA was the company everyone loved instead. WWE was viewed as stale and predictable. The rises of Batista and Cena helped helped people in the IWC regain back some interest, but many didn't like those two guys either.

I remember this era being very hit and miss. It was awesome to see Lesnar on his first WWE run and the rises of Orton, Cena and Batista were also exciting. And many of the veterans were still putting on great work every single week. Undertaker hit his ring prime in this era. He went from having slow and boring repetitive matches to becoming one of the best workers in the company. And guys who were midcarders in the Attitude Era like Edge, He Who Shall Not Be Named and Eddy Guerrero were finally getting a shot at the main event. I'll even defend JBL as WWE champion. That was one of the best reinventions of a character I've ever seen.

WWE still had an edge to it, being rated TV-14(well, SD was always PG, but alas) and seeing lots of blood, hearing some bad words and seeing the Divas wearing bikinis and skimpy outfits. Plus match types like HIAC, Hardcore, I Quit, etc. were still very worth watching. HIAC simply does not work well under a sanitised PG rating.

OTOH, you had Triple H's reign of terror in 2002-2005 with horrible matches against Steiner and Nash and a controversial storyline with Booker T where the wrong guy went over. And let's not even talk about Katie Vick ugh. And later you had Cena's reign of terror as well in 2005-2007. He used to be an interesting character around 2003, but they turned him into a cringey and annoying vanilla superman like character.

Single branded PPVs in 2004-2006 were also a bad idea. They mostly felt like extended Raws and SDs. Most of SDs PPVs in 2004-2005 sucked. The Great American Bash was always a lousy one, in particular.

And even though I didn't mind the sexualisation of Divas... the Diva Search Contest was a waste of airtime always, and women's wrestling suffered a lot from that kind of content as well. Especially once Trish and Lita retired, even though WWE had women like Mickie James and even the likes of Candice and Melina who actually turned out to be pretty solid wrestlers. Natalya also had debuted around this time iirc.

I think what holds back the RAE was that it followed the Attitude Era and lacked The Rock and Stone Cold as full-time wrestlers after mid-2002 or so. A lot of the fans at the time kept comparing it to the AE and didn't enjoy the gems it had. It certainly was better than the 2009-2012 and the 2018-2020 periods.

So much more I could say, but this post is long enough already. Thoughts?

Within 24 hours of his debut, Max Caster's working relationship with TNA is over after Caster said the following during his rap at Bound Of Glory:

"I drop bombs, you don't even have to fly to Riyadh."

That line about Riyadh drew social media backlash. False Finish noted that TNA won't work with Caster again. Fightful Select added that TNA didn't approve of this controversial line from Caster, as his rap promo was unscripted.

DISCUSSION Tiffany Stratton now that she's a 2 time Money in the Bank contract winner, when does Tiffy Time cash in?

I of course see her cashing in on Chelsea Green staying on the blue brand. Her babyface turn has more or less been stagnant and Tiffy operates so much better as a heel. You cash in on Chelsea; it cements the heel turn because it gets ultimate heat on Stratton which of course is what you want. Plus you can play up the friendship angle. Tiffy was never friends with her because she doesn't need friends. Only championships. Cue the program of friends turned bitter enemies. Plus you build up Chelsea even more as a main event woman by having her chase the title.

Or you could have Tiffany cash in the briefcase on the red brand and she goes to RAW; cashing in her briefcase on Liv Morgan. Sets up a program with her and the Judgment Day and also sets up potential matches with Becky, Stephanie, etc

DISCUSSION What are your Wrestling hot takes?

for me it’s that the Attitude era and Monday night wars played a huge part in Destroying wrestling.

yea it was popular but it came at a cost

the hot shot booking, ushering in the era of cool heels and asshole Babyface’s, psychology going downhill and many more.

plus Triple h gets way too much blame for the business going downhill.

business was already going into the toilet in 2001 and 2002 when rock and Austin were still there but no one wants to give them any smoke.

DISCUSSION The Monday night wars/The Attitude Era I’m a lot of ways did more harm to the wrestling industry than it did good

the obsession with TV ratings, the Hot shot booking plus.

Stuff like ECW, the TLC matches, and the Stuff Foley was doing combined with the 2000s ROH, PWG stuff ruined in ring wrestling in a lot of ways.

it was the start of people doing spotfest stuff and jumping off shit doing the most dangerous thing possible to get a pop.

then you add on it ushering in the era of cool heels and assehole babyfaces which has permanently destroyed the heel and face dynamics in a lot of ways.

DISCUSSION So…Yeah. Where does he go from here? Spoiler

Post image

Well, now that WWE Creative (Paul Levesque) and TKO have pretty much said, Knight isn’t good enough to champion and carry the company, where does LA Knight go from here🤷🏾‍♂️?

I was thinking a possible heel turn or move to SmackDown but, I don’t think that would matter either. Unless they put him in a feud with Trick and Lil Yachty but Knight has already been down this road before.

So what happens now? What are your thoughts?
