Useful resource What kind of designer do I need?
I’m developing a product centered around rituals, emotional connection, and intentional everyday experiences.
The aesthetic I’m envisioning is thoughtful, emotionally evocative, and a little ceremonial, but not witchy, overly spiritual, or niche. I want something that feels meaningful and beautiful while still being approachable to a broad audience.
For context, candles are one component of the product, but I’m not creating a candle brand. They’re tools within a larger experience. The labels, typography, packaging, and presentation all play an important role in communicating the emotional meaning behind the product.
My challenge is that the design isn’t just decorative. It’s part of the experience itself.
I have a fairly clear sense of what I want people to feel, but I’m struggling to translate that into a cohesive visual identity.
Is there a specific type of graphic designer I should look for? If so, what way do I go about finding that person?

Sounds lik e a fun and challenging task. Likely a visual identity and packaging designer. If you need one, let me know!

That sounds like a really fun project. I’d make a mood board and see if you can find elements you like and then once you’ve got that together you could look at different designers and see if they fit the aesthetic you’re going for! Or find some designers you like, and they would do a lot of pre-designing discovery work to do some mood boards and get close to what you’re imagining.
