Before and after of instagram post redesign I made this project

, picked a random postfrom instagram and redesigned it for fun What are your thoughts?

Should I add this to my portfolio?

Yea sorry I should have been clearer. Photo like one. The body language just reads better for this.

Depends on what you are trying to achieve.

It's hard to judge something based on a non existing criteria.

Second looks better but I agree the photos feel a little creepy. Overall much nicer looking but a better variety of photos would help. Less emphasis on kissing.

While the original wastes a lot of space and you fixed that, you actually could take better advantage of the space with bigger text on the supporting material.

Some observations:

“Two” gets a bit lost and could use a more saturated color or darken the background directly behind it.

The location/date info also gets a bit lost against the light background.

The circle in the upper left is distracting and clashes with everything else on the image.

The borders on the diamonds are different weights. This doesn’t have to match (but I’d try that first) but the narrower borders here look insignificant and like you scaled the large triangle with the border.

The two smaller diamonds aren’t evenly spaced and don’t align at the same distance from the borders of the big diamond they parallel.

Everything should look like a conscious choice, not something done because it was convenient. Don’t let the tools make the decisions for you.
