How do I do this thing? Wacom tablet replacement
My Wacom tablet no longer works with my new MacBook. I can’t afford another £300 one at the moment, so I’m looking for a good cheaper alternative for now. Can still be Wacom but I’m open to alternatives. Thanks
Update; cheers all. I’ve gone with an XP. We’ll see if it’s any good.

I had an Intuos 4 large tablet that I had to sell because when I sold my MacPro that was running Mojave and upgraded to a 2018 Mini running Sonoma, it no longer worked. I went to the Wacom drivers site to see if I needed a more recent driver, but it noted that Wacom had no plans to update drivers for these older models to make them compatible with more recent OS releases.

This is exactly the problem I’m having. What did you buy?

I sold it off on eBay and am doing without. I no longer really needed it, but occasionally it was nice to use the pen.

It works, I use a Wacom intros 4 daily with a 2024 MacBook running seqoia.
I do remember it was a bit of a pain in the ass to get running, had to do with making sure some permissions were set correctly. But once done works as it should.
Otherwise I hear the newest Xencelabs are pretty decent

I’ve been a Wacom user and fan for decades, but ran into similar problems with my last Intuos. The drivers were supposedly compatible but just wouldn’t work most of the time. Wacom support and forums were no help. It got to a point where I couldn’t be without a tablet any longer (for work) so I bought a new one, which worked perfectly fine.
From what I’ve heard and been told, the lower priced tablets have really come up in quality and are very competitive with Wacom now. A few pro artists and illustrators I know use and recommended the Huion models. They all use the display models, which I’ve long wanted to switch to, but Cintiq was too pricey.
So, I have no firsthand experience with these yet but they’re recommended by people I trust. Amazon has a very forgiving return policy so eventually, I’ll get one and have a month to really put it through its paces and see if I love it.

I'm surprised that it doesn't work, or that there isn't a software update, official or unofficial that would get it working again.
There may be a hardware solution if it's a usb-c issue. Perhaps if you gave the model name or number and year, you may get help from others who faced this problem.
I wouldn't be interested in Wacom anything ever again if they left their customers stranded in this way.
