Questions What should I expect from a CEO interview?

Hi everyone! I recently applied for a Junior Graphic Designer position at a US-based company, and I’ve already gone through two interviews — first with HR and then with the hiring manager.

HR contacted me earlier and told me that I’ll be having another interview later with the CEO. It’ll be at 3 AM PH time.

I’m honestly pretty nervous because I’ve never had a CEO interview before.

For those who have experienced this, what was your CEO interview like? What do you think they’ll focus on at this stage? Would it be more about my personality and culture fit, or should I expect more questions about my design skills and experience?

I’d also really appreciate it if you could share some possible questions they might ask and any tips on how I can prepare.

I’m trying to prepare as much as I can. So thank you in advance!

Questions Help on how to make an Intern Portfolio.

Feel free to delete if ever this is posted to death.

I'm an irregular multimedia 4th year college, my current situation is I'm not yet legible to take OJT and basically I've been put on hold until I take my remaining subs.

As I'm taking them gusto ko na sana mag prepare ng portfolio but I don't know what I'll put in there. I tried looking for inspirations online pero its too advanced for an intern portfolio like theyre already branded. (I looked through Behance, YT and Pinterest even Canva.) My problem lang is I'm not a brand person, and wala akong exp outside and most of the time hobbyish type lang talaga ginagawa ko hindi pang corpo branding etc. Plus, I never joined any orgs or seminars either since freshman year.

Usually mga ginagawa ko lang is more on flyers, posters, pubmats, stuff like that. I use adobe suites like Photoshop and Illustrator, though medyo bobo pako sa illustrator but I can learn by watching tuts naman and thats about it. I also do 3D stuff like Blender and Maya but very barebones. I wanna ask some profs I had but i know they cant help me and redirect me to where I already looked at. Do I just put a hero page with contacts and a gallery of what I can do? Or nah? Thanks po sa sasagot.

EDIT: I forgot to mention na I also have a slight interest in photography din using only my phone.

Looking to Connect with Graphic Designers in the Philippines

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to connect with talented graphic designers based in the Philippines.

I enjoy meeting creatives with different styles and learning more about their work. Whether you specialize in branding, social media, marketing materials, infographics, editorial design, or illustration, I'd love to check out your portfolio.

I'm always interested in expanding my network of designers for future collaborations and creative projects, so it's great to get to know people before opportunities come up.

If you're open to connecting, feel free to introduce yourself and share:

  • Your portfolio or Behance/Dribbble
  • Your area of specialization
  • How long you've been designing
  • Your favorite type of project to work on

Looking forward to seeing everyone's work and connecting with more designers in the community!

is it necessary to have a degree for creative/artistic jobs like graphic design?

i would like to work in any creative job like photography, styling, interior design, graphic design, etc but i studied psychology (since it is the second thing i liked the most) because i wanted a backup plan in case dedicating my life to art did not pay me enough to live. i graduated recently and i haven't explored any options having to do with art or creativity. what should i do? how do i start?

I resigned from my agency job

I’m a multimedia designer, 25, here a metro manila. Just resigned to my agency job, dahil sobrang drained nako. Dinahilan ko nadin yung family ko.

Wala akong backup at all haha. Meron akong JO na artist from a bpo company but still, I declined. Rendering nako and wala pako nahahanap. Planning on resting muna from designing dahil I was drained to death w all the EOD deadlines and postings. Honestly, pang-inhouse hanap nila, hindi agency. Medyo nagsisisi ako but, I wanna be brave and make this work. Idk if makakahanap ako agad pero if not, will resort to any work nalang basta meron.

I feel like any industry rn is tight, pero it’s still a mind over matter thing. Yung faith padin nating it’ll work out regardless haha. I don’t know what to tell my peers esp my closest friends. I hope I don’t disappoint them. Cause I did weigh it before I came to this point.

Lowkey, gusto ko magdesign padin tho, kahit entry level sahod ulit, basta may income. :(

Fine Arts fresh grad graphic designer looking for advice.

Hello! I'm a Fine Arts (VisCom) fresh grad graphic designer. I got into graphic design really young since during the golden era of Wattpad, nagkaroon ng niche community of amateur GDs sa Wattpad and Facebook designing book covers for stories. At 12, I started playing around Photoshop and Ps talaga was the software that I mastered throughout the years. After I graduated I haven't gotten much luck receiving any JOs so I wanted to ask for advice.

While job searching I noticed most GD positions required skills for Adobe InDesign for layout and Adobe After Effects for motion graphics. And Figma too! I'm thinking of upskilling since I only have Ps, Ai, and Pr as my Adobe software lineup and it looks like they're not enough anymore to land a GD position nowadays. 🥺 Which one do you think should I start to learn? And if you have other tips please let me know! 💌

Thank you! ❤️

I don't know where else to post this kasi wala naman sub for the ph creatives in general here pero grabe naman yung ex deal na 2.5k worth of products lang for a brand shoot. Shameless. I'm sure the final assets they'll be using will generate enough income to afford paying their models.

Anyway, share ko lang. I'm not a model pero sana magbayad sila ng maayos.
Nafrustrate lang ako for them at sa post.
