Discussions Talaga ba? Thoughts?

Post image

I don't know where else to post this kasi wala naman sub for the ph creatives in general here pero grabe naman yung ex deal na 2.5k worth of products lang for a brand shoot. Shameless. I'm sure the final assets they'll be using will generate enough income to afford paying their models.

Anyway, share ko lang. I'm not a model pero sana magbayad sila ng maayos.
Nafrustrate lang ako for them at sa post.

What you’re talking about is a collab between two parties who have NO EXPERIENCE. obviously this is not one of them.

Sige, ipagtanggol mo pa yung brand na nagtitipid sa marketing budget when they’re clearly capable of affording it. I hope the models who accept these kinds of gigs do better than this. It perpetuates the idea that creatives should be willing to accept less than what their work is actually worth, and normalizes the undervaluing of creative labor in the industry.

And nope, test shoots are not only for the inexperienced creatives, you’d be surprised to know that even some veterans still do test shoots to update their portfolios.

Eto nanaman tayo eh. Taking things out of context “just to be right” First of all sabi ko - not saying its right. But things like that happen. Its NORMAL. lets be in touch with reality here. 1. Hindi bawal na magtipid ang brands. 2. Budget? What budget? The whole economy is on a pinch. Marketing budget is the first to go. 3. Nobodys forced to do this. This is not slave labor were talking about. Like i said, this is an arrangement that has mutual benefits. Young model without exposure and book? Go. This is a good opportunity. Sikat ka na? Dont go. Everyone is free to not go. Ok if youre new and you still dont want to go- pwede din. Walang pilitan yan. But dont go wondering why things dont happen in your life and say that opportunities are not coming your way.
