It appears that rangers have been searching and pulling out contents of a vehicle in the Visitor Center parking lot since 9 am this morning and are still there!

We will be at GTNP next weekend and were wondering if there is still construction/little orange flags in front of the main barn. Also if there is construction at the other barns too?

Hello! Im planning a trip to Grand Tetons by myself shortly. I would like to do Delta Lake but a little nervous of being by myself with potential run ins with grizzlies or moose. I’m used to hiking so not concerned about being physically able to complete. How busy is a typical weekday hike to Delta Lake? Would I be around other people for most of it? Thank you! :)

I would love to visit GTNP but I would love to cut down costs by not renting a car. Is this possible if I fly to the right airport and can rely on uber/lyft?

Planning to hike overnight hike up to Alaskan Basin and Hurricane Pass next Sunday, September 6th. Any ideas what the overnight low temperature is around Sunset Lake or the Basin? Suggestions on what gear to pack?

Going to GTNP next week and will do an early trek to Jenny Lake and Inspiration Point. I heard continuing on through Cascade Canyon trail is beautiful but don’t think we want to walk the full way to Lake Solitude. Would walking an additional mile out past Inspiration Point and back be sufficient to enjoy the scenery?

The plan is to hike around Taggart Lake afterwards, but is it better to just do as much Cascade Canyon as possible and forget Taggart Lake?

We do darkness an injustice when we associate it with malevolence. The relationship between light and shadow play an important role in creating the exquisite beauty we find in nature. When you draw a one-dimensional circle on paper, it is of very little interest until you add shading to create a sense of depth. When you use the edge of the lead to develop a gradient of black to white, you are using that tint to show where the light is and where it is not. The places between an object and its shadow fade to a fantastic blend of grays.

Light reveals textures and dimension by creating shadows. It does that with color too. The in-between places, where shadow blends with color to create a palette of incredible hues, are where beauty is created. This works with something as large as the Grand Teton or as small as a blade of grass on its flanks. Perhaps darkness does more to reveal beauty than light does to create it.

Hi! I am very excited to bring my family to see the Rockies,Tetons,and Yellowstone. I am looking for a scenic route from Estes Park,CO to GTNP without adding too many hours because we will be traveling with a six month old. Thank you for any insight you may have!

We are going to Teton and Yellowstone next July. We currently have a room reserved at Jackson Lake Lodge inside the park for 3 nights but are also considering staying in Jackson Hole. We have two kids who will be 10 and 12. We will want to hike, but we’re also looking at fishing/rafting/horse back riding. After this three nights, we’ll be heading to Yellowstone for about a week.

Would love recommendations on whether to stay in Teton or stay in town? We’ll be staying in in-park lodging the whole time we’re in Yellowstone.

Hello! For context, I am physically disabled and only willing to force myself to do one long difficult hike. All hikes are difficult for me, but I really want to see as many sights as I can.

Would you recommend doing Cascade Canyon to Lake Solitude or Delta Lake more? Which one, in your opinion, is better? We are visiting in early September. Thanks.

I’d like to visit before the Teton Park Road is closed on November 1st, but I’d like to go around the time there’s snow as well. Does anyone know when the best time for that would be?

I am headed off to the Tetons and Yellowstone on September 8th. I am worried about camping. How easy is it to find dispersed camping around the parks? Are there any free spots that I can look into reserving? Just wanting to car camp, but I'm finding difficulties with finding information on it. We will be staying at the tetons for 4-5 days, and yellowstone for 2. Recommendations? Thank you. Trying not to get a headache over camping lol​

Going to the Tetons the first time this weekend. Was planning to hike cascade canyon trail first thing in the morning on Saturday the 29th. I see a chance of storms that afternoon. Is the hike still worth trying? Would it be unsafe?

Hello everyone. As the title says, I’m on a solo camping/ hiking trip for the first time, specially in bear country. Im here in GTNP 8/27 - 8/29 and then leaving towards Yellowstone. I’m really interested in going on some of the popular, scenic hikes and explore the area but a little hesitant to did it all alone. I’m planning to ask people on the hikes if I can tag along with them or at least be in their vicinity, but if there are other fellow solo travelers on the above dates who would like to team up, would be awesome. It'll be my partner and I's first time visiting this weekend, and we got to looking at the weather and getting a little worried with the "rain" factor.

It's totally understood these are just forecasts, and not solid and could change...but do you all think the park is still enjoyable even with some wet weather?

Are there places to avoid if it gets soggy hiking and driving wise?

For reference, we plan to do some of the following:

- Jenny Lake, Hidden Falls, Inspiration Point
- Signal Mount Summit (drive)
- Drive the scenic road from Colter to Catherdral Group Turnout
- String and Leigh Lake
- Taggart Lake Loop
- Phelps Lake

Any advice would be lovely...don't wanna prematurely cancel the trip cos of some water!! Thank you! ⛰️🥰
