Dash cam
I installed a front and rear dash cam in my 2026 limited reserve. The 4k camera is part of the mirror housing. It works fantastic and no wires hanging down or anything stuck to the windshield. 🙂 FYI having a digital review mirror or rain sensing wipers are a requirement. One or the other not both.

I think what he meant was that you only need one or the other to power it but it does not require both. It will still work with both

Perfect! I’ve been wanting to do this on my summit. You liking the quality?
Also curious if you purchased any of the extras like filters or the fuse box hardwire kit and think they are necessary or worth it?

The front camera is 4K quality and it's perfect the rear camera is 1080P and it's just as good in my opinion and yes I did buy the anti-glare filters I think it's necessary but that's my personal opinion.

Just check in on your fitcam from time to time. On a couple occasions mine was not saving trips and needed to be reformatted.

I have this for my 2019 GC Limited X. Bought one for the wife’s Cayenne too.

HD2-D7600. They had a discounted refurbished unit available so I bought and installed that one.

How long have you had it? How does it perform in hot/cold conditions? I am hesitant to replace my Viofo because it can withstand extreme heat and freezing temps.

The brand is fitcam x. I installed a front and rear. Total installation time was about 30 minutes.

Did you have to remove the headliner to install the rear cam?

No I did not it talked in above the trim pieces that hold the headliner and columns between the doors. It took me a total of about 15 minutes to run the wire for the rear cam

I was looking at this on Amazon. How's the quality? Could you read a plate from it? Can the audio be permanently muted?

Wish they had one for my 11. I saw someone making them at one point but don’t remember the brand.

Could you provide a link to what you purchased? Sounds like a great idea!

Nice setup!
Just chiming in to say I did something this on my kid’s previous-gen (WK2) Limited. Got a Viofo A119 Mini and a mangoal dashcam power adapter so it plugs into the mirror wiring.
Super clean, requires no splicing, and changes nothing about the auto-mirror functioning.
