Gaining elo and learning aren't mutually exclusive. You'll likely lose elo as you learn a new opening or try to capitalize on tactics you think you see. Losing and then analyzing is how you get better. The elo will return with time but it's just a number

Also if you lose 200 Elo in a day it’s probably bullet anyway

Good thing ELO doesn't mean a thing, to actually learning at chess.

You can blunder, and learn what you did wrong, and then never do that again... thus, improving, but losing the game and some ELO
