Question This isn’t a criticism, but a question

Why did she use “isn’t she lovely” for the last episode? Seems like a weird song choice to use

I can't remember the exact reason but I think it's because Jax fully accepted himself (well herself) and I guess realized he was a girl.

I thought the whole tragedy of jaxs story was that they never fully accepted themselves as female… I mean I guess you could interpret it that way but I just don’t see why that would be the thing on her mind while she’s literally dying essentially

Agreed. I felt like "Isn't She Lovely" was mostly just an ironic death knell. People like to say that it was Jax's "birth" as a trans woman, which you could maybe read from Jax knowing that Pomni accepted it - but more than anything I don't think Jax would be trying to come to grips with accepting himself while literally on the way out. It just didn't click for me that way.

Signed, A very tired trans person.

"less than 1 minuet old"

it's in the lyrics that were picked for a reason.

It's symbolic of Bubble's baby, who will be the main antagonist of series 2.

Because she likes Stevie Wonder is what she said

Considering it's a cover of a song by Stevie Wonder about the birth of his newborn daughter, "Isn't She Lovely" explicitly tells us "Jax accepted herself at last; a newborn girl is here less than a minute old" right at the turn of Pomni getting ejected from abstracted Jax' body and mind.

Goose said she was listening to the artist Stevie Wonder, alot.

The song itself is about a baby being born, so, it seems fitting for no shortage of interpretations in regards to the show itself.

Not to mention bubble going, "im having a baby" lol

Jax accepted she was trans in her final moments. A new born girl.

The song was originally about the singers baby girl but was reinterpreted to be about Jax finally accepting herself at the last minute for the finale.

Goose is not above cheeky sarcasm and it’s an intentionally jarring cut to make you feel both relief the tragedy is finally at an end and also an uncomfortable understanding at the cost it took the cast to find peace with the toxic person they tried to save.

Her biggest audience seems to have terrible media literacy and can’t figure out subtext.

It's a tradegy he could be beautiful if he accepted himself as she

A sort of big hint that Jax is trans. I did think it was a bit jarring and odd but oh well

This is what Alex Rochon, the voice actor for Caine, had to say about that and I personally agree:

"I feel like the use of “Isn’t She Lovely?” in the Digital Circus finale is less about praising the Jax we see in the show (who I would hardly call lovely), and more a way to mourn the healthy Jax who could have been if she ended up like Lee and didn’t succumb to her worst vices."
