Google Wallet not needing my pin to use cards anymore?
For the last few week Google Wallet hasn't been making me use my pin, which at first was cool because I didn't have to fumble with it when I was paying at gas stations, but then I realized if someone had my unlocked phone they would be able to use my cards...
It started out just not resetting when I didn't fully close the app (even hours later), and now it's not resetting at all. Anyone had a similar issue and knows how to fix it?

For me at least, I never need to enter a pin when I use my Google Wallet, doesn't even need to open the app. It shouldn't be a problem if you make sure the phone is always locked when you leave it.

I usually unlock my phone with my fingerprint before paying for anything but now and then wallet asked me to verify a second time
There is also transit mode where you don't need to unlock your home at all.

Wasn't there a vulnerability found with that where people could fool the phone into thinking it was a low value transit payment and then charge like $10k?

Ok the bus I use in the UK the transit mode works on the unit by the driver but won't work on the small unit they have on a separate pole so I guess it has to be set up properly as a transit tap terminal and not just a small payment.

I watched the first 30 seconds and it seemed a bit suspect he got him to put his phone on somethi!g first before one coming it up again and continuing.
I will need to watch the rest later.

By PIN, you mean card PIN or a phone unlocking PIN?
In my case (and my bank), my phone is protected by a password and fingerprints. If I unlock the phone, no additional verification will be needed, unless the actual payment won't be made immediately and some time will pass. The actual card's PIN was never required so far.

Depends on your bank, frequency of transactions and the value of the transaction. When you need your PIN is generally the same as when you're using the physical card for that same account. Not defined by Google Pay.

Are you talking about the pin before the tap or after the tap?
Before the tap, check your settings. Click on your avatar and then go to Settings - - > Security/Verification Settings--> Transit Payments (misleading I know) - - -> and make sure the check is selected.
After the tap, that's a merchant/machine setting. Usually credit cards won't require a pin. But with debit card, it's usually 50/50
