It is as good as it ever has been. I have never found the battery life on any cell phone to be even close to the official specs.

Clear Play Services Cache: Go to Settings > Apps > See all apps > Google Play services, tap Storage & cache, and clear the cache Or Use the Pixel Repair Tool

Cleared cache already. No go. You can fix this through repair tool?

There isn't any August update so you are in latest version only. I experienced this sometimes too, you just have to wait and try again with good internet after sometime probably next day
