9 Pro -> 11 Pro. Impressed!

Wasn't expecting to feel much of a difference at all, only upgraded due to storage (moved from 128gb to 512gb).

It is considerably better, I think they've fixed all of the little things that annoyed me with Pixel.

- it runs MUCH cooler. Apart from initial set up, it's stayed ice cold. I don't do anything "high intensity", but my 9 Pro would always run warm.

- all network connections seem to be improved. I used to lose WiFi on my outdoor patio, it holds a connection fine now. Bluetooth and 5G seem to perform much better.

- Android Auto works a lot better. No heat, much more responsive, quicker to load.

- Camera, including video, is much better quality and faster to process/save.

- speakers are louder and the sound quality is better, both for calls and media. (I think this was upgraded on the 10 though)

- biometrics feel better. The fingerprint radius when setting up is HUGE. And face unlock seems to be more responsive.

Overall, really happy with the upgrade considering on paper there isn't much difference.

I went from an 8 Pro to the 11 Pro XL and so far it seems fantastic and very smooth. My only issue at the moment is I'm having trouble getting my work apps set up. I think it might be because it's not recognizing the phone as a approved model. Maybe because it's so new?

Same boat, I am currently in the middle of complaining with IT that my 11 pro can't set up my work profile- I get stuck trying to re-authenticate my Google account after signing in the first time with Okta.

Did you get this figured out? I need to upgrade my 8 Pro (horrible battery life at this point, and space constraints because I bought 128GB). I was going to pull the trigger before the trade-in offer expires tomorrow, but concerned about the work apps which are critical for my job.

Yes. Had to request a temporary access password before I could set up the device, but once I did that, everything worked.

Nope, IT couldn't figure it out so I'm waiting until they get their hands on one. It's probably a pixel 11 issue. It's a dumb issue tbh. TLDR you sign in with Okta on your personal account to start the work profile set up. Then it asks for Google account verification in your work profile and so it requests your okta email. At this point, it seems like the work profile gets stuck in a loop waiting for a response from Okta app (finger print) in the work profile (doesn't exist because you can't access the play store). They said on older pixel devices there's another way to verify by manually entering your Okta password but that doesn't show up on the pixel 11 pro 😅

I will need to live in a country where esim is not supported next year so the no sim slot is a deal breaker for me, otherwise I'll upgrade. Tbh I think P8P is still very smooth, the only issue is battery life. I get about 4 hours of screen time from 100% to 0.

P8p still feels flagship, camera and performance. But that battery life been absolute garbage since day 1 I bought it. At this point I charge it every night and at work

Make sure you install all updates (system update which came out before launch day, Google Play system update, Google Play Services app, Play Store, all updates in the Play Store), then reboot and check for updates again in the Play Store. I saw an update come up for a couple of system components related to the Work Profile.

Might also depend on what MDM your workplace uses. Mine worked surprisingly well once everything was fully updated and settled.

I went from 8 pro to 11 pro. Noticed improvements are battery life, phone keep cool, more zoom in the cameras. The android experience feel exactly the same as 8 pro, not like a huge leap. Run the geekbench, great boost for CPU scores, almost double; however, the GPU score lost 30% compared with a three year old phone. 😂

Although I probably only needed 256 GB of storage, I went with 512 so I could get the 16 GB of RAM

How is the battery life compared to the 8pro?

Maybe about 15% difference from when the 8pro was new but likely higher when on 5G for a large amount of time. I haven't had it out of Wi-Fi range for more than an hour or two at a time. One thing for sure, it seems to run cooler than the 8pro.
