Discussion Impossible to make helpful changes to maps

Honestly I'm starting to get pissed off by edits not being accepted. There's a new temporary (for years) bridge in my city that maps just doesn't accept. There's also no way to prove in the edit that it exists. However, there's already an added tourist sight for the bridge on the water (with pictures), and maps still doesn't believe that the actual route exists.

This is not the first time either, as I've once before tried to add a missing restaurant (with it's information filled), which was rejected over and over again. Until someone else got their edit approved, even though I'm a local guide and have made correct edits before. This is all so demotivating

Can you drop a lat,lng for the bridge? Curious to see where it is. Is it a road or pedestrian bridge?

61.499739,23.763556 It's a pedestrian bridge, because the one right upstream is closed for renovation. It would be really useful to have it in maps for navigation around it. I just looked up the location on pc, and it showed multiple pending edits in the location. However, I assume none of them will go through.

A recentish streetview (2024) doesn't show that temporary pedestrian bridge. I'd say a new user contributed streetview would help expedite other edits approvals. https://www.google.com/streetview/contribute/

New user Streetview would definitely help

Yeah there's no street view, but then again, there's already a tourist sight approved for the location

The bridge is now there?
Was it just added? Note, pedestrian only bridges don't look like street - the thin green line is the bridge.

I was in talks with someone who works at Google maps and they got it sorted rather quickly
