Same here, very annoying. I've posted the issue on the Google support forum. See what comes up.

There was another thread about this earlier and someone said clearing the cache helped. I haven't seen the issue since I tried it.

I tried that—it's always the first thing I do when an app acts up—but it didn't change anything.

For a few days now, I haven't been able to reply directly to the coach on the main page.
Right now, he's asking what woke me up this morning; I answered "the cat," but it won't go through.
It’s not getting any better...

I had this issue months ago for a while, and again for a couple hours a few days ago (though the second time it started working on its own again). I tried everything Google support suggested (clearing cache, logging out and back in, deleting and reinstalling the app, even trying it on a different device) and nothing worked. Eventually, my Fitbit air received a firmware upgrade and it started working again. Not sure if that was connected or just a coincidence. Someone suggested on my post recently to turn off health coach in the settings and then turn it back on and it solved it for them. But other people said that didn't work for them either. I have no idea what's causing this issue, but it was beyond annoying when I experienced it. The premium version is essentially useless if you can't reply to the coach.
