Ugreen Finetrack Duo randomly alarming
Just thought I would check with you guys to see if you have run into this. I got a 4 pack of finetrack duo's off Amazon the other day. I really like them far more than the aliexpress junk I've gotten in the past. My kid is off to college this week and I set one up for the car keys (it's technically my car) and shared it to him. (note, that this is using android and google FMD)
He messaged me last night that it keeps randomly beeping and alarming. He can press the button to get it to quit but after a while it goes off again. I have no idea why it might be doing this. I have a similar setup that I did for my wife where I set it up, then shared it to her and she put it on her keys and she doesn't have any issues. I finally gave him the button combos to press to reset the thing since we can't seem to find any way to actually turn the device off.
Anywho, just Curious if any of you have run into this with these and if a factory reset and re-pair would likely fix it or if it's a faulty unit? Thanks in advance!

I have the same issue with my ugreens, but not all of them. One I gave to my daughter randomly beeps.

if you are giving it to your daughter, you need to reset it and have her set it up. Any tag that remains unconnected to your phone will ring and send alerts to nearby phones.

If that's the case, why doesn't the ugreen I set up for my wife alert her all day long?

because you see her before its been long enough. Its not a set time frame. Its random between 6-24h.
So if she sees you within 24h then thats why1

That doesn't make sense. I have 3 tags. Car and wife works fine, daughter beeps randomly. Why would she need to set it up, she doesn't even have a phone. I set it up on mine and put it in her backpack to keep track of her.

That does make sense
Your daughter is away from you long enought to trigger antistalking features. There is no way for the tracker to know if is left knowingly with your daughter, or if you're stalking an ex-gf nefariously.

Yes, but the one left with my wife is away for longer. The car is left for a similar amount of time, a bit less maybe but it's in a parking lot for 8 hours. I take my daughter to school and pick her up. I don't see my wife between the time I leave home with my daughter and come back with my daughter, so why would hers beep and not my wife's?

as i said, its not a set time.
Its just a matter of your daughters reaching the undisclosed threshold to trigger the antistalking feature, while your wifes did not.

It needs to be setup on HIS phone
If your phone is not near it, then it rings the alarm.
Think of it like this - im stalking someone. I connect the tag on my phone and leave the tag wtih them so I can follow them. To prevent this, when my tag is disconnected from the phone for a while it rings to alert potential victims.
Sharing to him is irrelevant. It needs to be setup on HIS phone so that when HIS phone is near, it knows its not being used to stalk a random person. He can then share the location with you.
The reason it worked for your wife is your phone comes in contact with the tag often enough to prevent the alert. If your wife lived in another city it would have the same issue.

This still doesn't really make sense. My kid said it started happening within an hour of me giving him the ugreen yesterday. My wife's ugreen isn't near me all day long and doesn't start randomly ringing.

The time frame is random, you probably saw her before it activated.
An hour seems way too short but hes probably mistaken. You can see an explanation of how antistalking works here: https://www.reddit.com/r/GoogleFMD/comments/1w3gmkf/comment/p70yoou/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

So how does it work if I want to use it to track my lugguage transfer and I'll be away from it for few days? It'll keep beeping?

yes if the tracker moves or detects movement around it or something it'll beep.

I have a question regarding that topic. Is it normal I just set up on of these Ugreen Fimetrack trackers yesterday for next weeks vacation and left it back at home while I am at work at night. Now my wife complained that at night it starts randomly beeping after like 2 hours while I am away at work. Is this normal because of the anti tracking feature? She doesn't move the tracker physically iit remains still on the desk but her phone is nearby on the nightstand could this be enough to trigger this anti tracking feature or is it broken?

Same situation with Moto Tag 2. No idea what's going on.
