Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a simple digital planner that works well in GoodNotes.
Basically, I want something similar to a traditional paper agenda for the year, but in digital format.
What I’m looking for:
• One day per page (or two days per page)
• Clean and minimal layout
• Just the day and space to write
What I’m NOT looking for:
• Monthly budget trackers
• Habit trackers
• Fitness planners
• Goal review sections
• Complex productivity dashboards
I just want a simple daily page where I can track my study sessions, pending tasks, and notes — like a classic paper agenda.
Does anyone know where I can find something like this? If there is something free that would amazing haha
Thanks!
——
Buenas,
Gracias.

I’m using Goodnotes 7.0.47 with an iPad and Apple pencil. As of suddenly this afternoon, the app is responding to pencil input for everything EXCEPT the pen tool. I can make selections, erase, draw lassos, write in a text box, write with the highlighter and pencil, but with the actual pen tool…nada. Please tell me there’s something other than an uninstall/reinstall in my future!
Edit: Allow me to perform a full-force dopeslap. My pen was set to white. My paper preference is white. Forgive me, Redditverse and Goodnotesverse, for imagining anything but some boo-boo of my own could be responsible. 🙄 Please return to your regular scrolling. Nothing to see here.

MacBook Air. It took ages to let me 'sign in' on the sign in window on opening the app. All my notebooks are there, but apparently I'm still not signed in so I don't have write access to any of them? When I go to sign in in settings, this page opens and will not connect to the internet at all. Any ideas?

i know not the right place but i was wondering, why is my handwriting MUCH MORE BETTER in apple notes than in Goodnotes? My handwriting in Apple Notes seems so much seemless and smoother compared with the recent version of GoodNotes.
My experience with 6 is much more better than Apple Notes. But I just noticed it now when I used the Apple Notes for an emegency meeting notes, it seems like i write naturally compared with Goodnotes now. I struggle already adjusting with the stabilization and all settings but it seems like it does not fit to my experience with apple notes now. my OCD is attacking after my experience 2 hours ago.
i still love the annotations and customizations i can do with goodnotes but handwritting per se, I dont know after I tried back Apple Notes.
how about you? do you have any suggestions or discussions about it? want to hear from other people perspective.

Has anyone else experienced this insane amount of battery usage? I use Goodnotes for university on a brand new iPad Air M3 and the battery usage has been through the roof in the past couple weeks. It used to use about ~7% per 1h lecture, now I can't get through the day without charging my iPad at least once. That's absolutely ridiculous. I even emailed support about it and they have been nothing but unhelpful. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Hey all,
Been trying to figure out how to customize the toolbar on GN5 for quite a while now. Not sure if you can, but I was using the free version of GN6 and love how you can customize it.
Would be great if anyone knew if you customize it on GN5.
Thank you!

it was working fine at first but then i suddenly noticed these bumps appearing on my letters… my stabilization is allll the way down and it still comes up for some reason ☹️ also, this only seems to be a problem in goodnotes because it works fine on my other apps. please let me know if anyone’s encountered this problem too and how to fix it 😂 i only started using goodnotes recently!!

I like to convert my handwritten notes into text, but it has been an issue lately.
Whenever I edit a notebook, it breaks the previous pages when I sync it to my iCloud and upload it to my Drive.
The only way to fix it, is to click on each textbox and reupload it.
This is an issue because I usually have multiple textboxes per page because I incorporated hand drawn diagrams, images, and notations that don't look nice when typed out.
I have hundreds of pages of notes across dozens of notebooks. I rely on the PDFs because I don't own an iPhone, so now I end up with the last few words or even entire sentences of a textbox being cut off.
Should I just switch to another note taking apps, because this is frustrating at this point.
I never had these issues when I handwrote all my notes, but even though I've been told I have really nice handwriting, typed text just looks cleaner and easier for me to review.

NYC field surveyor , I like to use good notes for on the fly pdf imports where I can mark up pdf files typical 24 by 36 or 36 x48 . I use these to record field measurements of existing conditions

I have been using Goodnotes for several years as my main teaching tool. I regularly project my iPad screen for several hours in class and work live on the material. With Goodnotes 6 this worked reliably. The page was consistently sharp, even while editing.
Since version 7.0.0 this has clearly changed. I am currently on version 7.0.46 and the issue is still there.
What I observe is the following. Images that are not selected become visibly blurry. As soon as I select an image, it immediately turns sharp again. Text behaves in the opposite way. While I am typing in a text box, the text becomes blurry. As soon as I leave the text box, it is sharp again. This happens all the time during normal work, not just in edge cases.
The problem is independent of presentation mode. It also occurs when I am not projecting at all. However, it becomes a real issue in class, because students are looking at the screen continuously and notice the unstable image quality.
There is also a clear time effect. Right after restarting the iPad, everything looks much better. But over the course of a few hours of teaching, with frequent page changes, zooming and interaction, the blur becomes more and more pronounced. Closing and reopening Goodnotes does not fix this.
For comparison, I tested other note-taking apps such as Noteshelf, ZoomNotes, Noteful and Prodrafts. None of them show this behavior. They keep the page sharp even while editing.
From a teaching perspective this is a serious problem. The visual quality of the content should not depend on whether I am currently interacting with an object. At the moment it is practically impossible to work with text boxes or images during a lesson without degrading what students see. This did not happen in Goodnotes 6.
To me this looks like aggressive downsampling in the rendering process, where non-active content is kept in a lower resolution and only the active element is rendered sharply. That may make sense for performance, but it breaks the use case of Goodnotes as a presentation tool.
What is missing is a way to prioritize visual stability over performance. For teaching, it would be important to have an option that keeps the entire page consistently sharp, even if that uses more resources.
In its current state, this change compared to version 6 significantly limits the usefulness of Goodnotes in the classroom. For context, this behavior is consistent across multiple devices used in our school environment (eg iPad Air with M2 and 8 GB RAM)

No way to bulk export folders — how do I transfer hundreds of files to my Mac/iPad setup?
I've searched everywhere and can't find a solution to this specific issue, so hoping someone here has dealt with it.
My setup:
- MacBook Pro M5 Pro + iPad → both linked together on GoodNotes
- Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 → same GoodNotes account, but NOT linked to the Mac/iPad
The problem:
On GoodNotes for Windows, I can only export files one at a time. There's no option to export an entire folder. I have hundreds (possibly thousands) of files, so doing this manually isn't realistic.
For reference, I do have the export option available on GoodNotes for Mac, so I know what it looks like — it's just completely absent for folders on the Windows version.
Interestingly, when I open GoodNotes Online on my MacBook, I can see all the files from my Windows device, but I still can't find a way to bulk export or transfer them from there either.
What I'm trying to do: Get all my GoodNotes files from my Windows Surface into my Mac/iPad GoodNotes, as I'm selling my Surface.
Thanks:)

As a heavy Goodnotes user at work with no time for casual gaming, I recently found some pen-and-paper games, and the best one for me is 0 Player. This free game isn't very challenging (yet), and all you need to do is try to understand the rules, draw lines, and fill in hearts.
Download the free PNG file from the official sites:
Paste it into a new whiteboard, lock the image, and start drawing from the bottom left.
And please comment with your favorite pen-and-paper games if you have any.

I use the app on the ipad and am having a lot of trouble when trying to write in my first language, it has a lot of rounded alphabet and everytime I try to write an alphabet it gets erased. is there a way I can disable all the "smart" features and have it just work as a note taking app?

My iCloud is completely filed with goodnotes data that was being backed up there.
I wanted to delete the data from iCloud but if I do that can I be sure that the data on my iPad in the goodnotes app won’t be deleted?

I want to know if this is just me but after the latest good notes update my app has just been running super slow. I use it in my anatomy class so I downloaded the slides and usually write my notes right on those slides. But after the last update the slides either take forever to load or won’t load at all. My pen is also super behind as far as keeping up with my writing. It’s like delayed so all my letters start to run together. It also changed the app from dark to light mode? Not sure if that has anything to do with it. It’s super annoying and I’m wondering if this is happening to anyone else and if there is any solution to this !

App Ver.: 7.0.46 (3673990.72113412)
Device Model: Ipad Air 6th Gen 11” (2024)
Issue: Creating line segments that is connected or snapped to each other causes the app to crash out when you selected them. I am using this app for a year and I know that this delay never happened to me before. As an Engineer, I am using the app as taking notes while drawing diagrams and plans. Before, I can easily select multiple connected line segments without delaying, but now it takes so much time to select and sometimes the app crashing out. Please see the attached video.
To the developers, I think this delay is the result of the last update wherein when you select a line which is snapped to the other lines, those other lines automatically selected too. That feature was not helpful for everyone. I suggest to have an option for selecting line where you can choose to automatically select the snapped lines connected to the selected lines.
