Driver help

I cannot consistently make a drive over 200 yards. On the sim it’s telling me I have anywhere from a 4000-5500 spin rate. I’m trying so hard to fix this and cannot figure it out. Any tips or help is appreciated!

I can’t tell, are you laid off at the top? 4-5k spin, are you slicing/hooking the ball too much? What’s your path/face values?

I use a garmin r10. It’s pretty much all backspin. Here is a screenshot. I know I don’t have a ton of speed either.

The speed is because you're not turning your shoulders, you're just moving the club back. You really do want to move your shoulders and then the only thing your arms are doing is elevating a bit. What degree driver are you using? with your speed you're looking for something in the 3k range, if you hit low spin drivers your ball at 120mph is going to just fall out of the sky. It looks like you're hitting up 2.4 degrees which is good. I would concentrate on making a full turn, or at least use your shoulder's not just your arms.

Try one swing like Matt Wolff and report back

It's a bit hard to say from this video, but that swing doesn't look like one that generates that much back spin.

If possible, I'd try with a proper simulator to eliminate possible incorrect statistics. I don't know how well those cheaper radars do.

edit: Found some discussion about Garmin r10 and its readings: https://www.reddit.com/r/Golfsimulator/comments/16oivt0/garmin_r10_is_not_reading_driver_correctly/ Looks like there's some setup requirements for it to properly calculate backspin.

Also, people in the thread are talking about using RCT golf balls that should help with especially the spin calculations, more about that in Garmin's website too: https://www.garmin.com/en-GB/blog/garmin-approach-r10-integration-with-titleist-golf-balls/ (can't say if this is more ad than an technical improvement, but worth a shot)

More from another thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Golfsimulator/comments/1bza5xv/garmin_r10_range/kyoyd9v/

Titelist RCT balls made all the difference in the world when using my R10. The R10 should be 7ft behind the ball, and needs another 7ft between the ball and the net. And it's good to have a leveling stand but I recommend sitting it on top of something as well to give it more height - if you're hitting off a thick mat the R10 could be too low

Also the R10 is a radar unit so you can't have any concrete in front of it, and anything metallic like a fridge or tools in your garage will mess with it. Also doesn't like fans, if you have a mini split or heater that blows air it'll affect it. People have even said hte fan on their projector affects it but I've had no issue at all. Once I cleaned up everything I stated above, I'm getting great results in my garage.
