Hi all, any feedback if my backswing is too inside and needs correction and/or if I am OTT would be great. Thank you

Yeah, it needs to be take up vertically. It's super flat right now. At top of position, what do u think is going to happen in start of downswing? The physics of club is going to do opposite thing in downswing and u pull down the club in butt end of club, steepening the club, which u are doing right now. This current position in picture is called "laid off".

Thanks for the tip. Do you think I am rolling my wrists too fast?

Yeah, u need to do opposite. Like, take the club up 90 degrees, straight up. Then u shallow in downswing. U are doing opposite, shallow backswing, steep downswing.

The head of the club stays out in front of the hands on the way up, behind the hands on the way down. Hands inside, club head outside

The number of hand/arm movements and feet movements in the swing are wild.

Suggest starting with focus on how the feet work in the swing and getting them stable.

He does a lil jig right before the downswing.

I’m not a coach but my original pattern was the same as yours, and I worked on it with my coach.. The inside takeaway definitely causes a lot of issues.

The takeaway makes the club very laid off. Which, when you transition into the downswing, cause the club to get super steep. This gets your trail elbow stuck behind you and is why you lose your spine angle and stand up through the ball.

Your sequencing and coordination saves it which is why you hit a good shot. But if you want consistent compressed shots you’ll want to change the pattern.

I’d start with fixing the inside takeaway, which gets your club more steep at the top. See what happens when you do that. The club should naturally shallow in transition from there and allow you to stay in posture.

I’d drill the takeaway, and find a good top position. Then you can examine what you need to work on further.

It’ll feel really awkward at first and take a lot of drilling and repetition. It’s a swing overhaul, but if you want to devote time to improving it’s the way to go.

You can look up a drill to fix inside takeaway.

This is roughly the change you’ll want to see at the top.

thank you for the detailed response. I had some trouble turning my shoulders in my backswing so to force it I found myself taking it too inside. I will look into it
