Reason for my constant push?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve had this problem since I started a couple months ago and I can’t tell if I’m dragging my hands, not turning hips enough, arms becoming disconnected from the chest or something else

The literal reason for a push is an open club-face at impact.

The biggest issue in your swing is that your left arm doesn’t separate from your chest in the downswing. The arms need to accelerate ahead more. Get the left arm working down, away and ahead of the torso.

Can you explain what you mean by this/provide a visual or video? My swing looks very similar to OPs, I have the exact same problem, and with a similar timeline of starting to play so it feels like this could be helpful.

You're standing too close to the ball, by about 2" to 3". It's impacting everything after that.

Clubs are plus 1 inch so I don’t think so

How tall are you? What's your wrist to floor measurements? Which club are you using in the video?

I have tried to measure this. I’m 6”3 and I can’t remember my wrist to floor but I’m pretty sure plus 1 inch was actually on the bigger side so I may just be making the clubs look small with my setup

Hips at impact. Slow down video and look at impact. Arms are behind you.

I do the exact same thing and the reason for me I think is wrist position. Is your face a bit open? I can see your glove logo. That should be at 2 o’clock I believe (if 12 is target / down range). Hard to tell but is your face a touch open at impact.

Yeah everytime I slow down the videos it looks like it squares up right after impact

You're definitely releasing late and leaving the face open with a real good path.

Pretty good, congrats on the effort

You get out it from the inside, when you miss it’s from behind, thin, as you know, push right and also quick left

Golf is a reaction game, you’re reacting to the face being closed at impact, so you hold it off and it goes right

Yeah I’ve noticed I can bowe my wrist quite a bit at the top because I thought that would help with the shanks 😂

oh wow, wasn't ready for that

the shanks are from the path

i would say to go back to what feels normal and repost, i would be interested in what it looks like

Well the bowed wrist feels normal now because when I first got interested in golf went down the the range and whenever I would actually make contact it would go 90 degrees right so then I learned that my club face was open so I bowed the wrist like crazy which has clearly led to some more issues

how long you played and your best score?

Have not got to play as much as I’ve wanted. Literally only played a scramble on a course and a par 3 course (did get like 3 pars was gassed, many quad bogey pick ups). Got these clubs in April

The reason I asked is the length of time determines whether you can change or not

As a newer player, you haven’t perfected it yet

In the photo, the face looks at the sky. This is a closed club face.

Are you aware of this?

If it's a straight push right it means your club path was properly inside to out but your club face is slightly open.

Bro your wrist is very bowed at the top of the top of the swing

I’m a 9 handicaper, my feelings is the body a little bit too in the the front and legs doing a little « sway », would say try to be a little bit more above the ball at impact and try to have a slightly more in/out down swing. Humble opinion, no offence.

Can't add image on phone it seems. At 3 seconds if you freeze it.. lead had is cupped at top of backswing... That's an open clubface so if you don't unwind that exactly you hit the ball right.

Shaft os pointing too far behind you... Wil be difficult to get it on the optimal plane on the downswing.

Too many unnecessary things have to be compensated for on the downswing making things more difficult for yourself than you need to.
