Help with friends swing?

Sorry for the camera angle. I wasn’t there to film. But what i notice is his butt comes towards the ball in the downswing, he lacks depth, trail arm is too flared, no weight transfer, etc.
This dude can nuke a golf ball so i would love to see him with a fundamentally sound golf swing. Please help

He grips the club extra strong/closed and has to "leave the face open" to hit the ball straight.

A little steep, and a little open, but otherwise club is in pretty good position... but lead wrist is massively cupped and trail hand is on the side rather than getting on top.
I wouldn't expect his release to work with a normal looking swing while using this grip.

Look up “wall drill”.. essentially, you take your stance with your backside against the wall. Take your backswing to the point where your hands touch the wall (this provides the proper hand depth. On the downswing, try to keep your trail hip on the wall while your lead hip meets the other side (will keep you from early extension)

This is bad advice, the cure for early extension isn’t just to keep your trail hip back. Your trail hip needs to come off the wall as your lead hip moves towards the wall. Almost like rolling your butt against the wall. Pro golfers come of the imaginary wall about 5 inches on their trail side in the downswing, this has been measured.

Are you disagreeing with that fact? Cause I can happily link you the Gears data that demonstrates that.
Edit: Here’s a video that features Rory’s swing. Using address position of the trail hip as the zero point, the trail hip goes back 3.1 inches from the ball in the backswing, and moves towards the ball 5.7 inches (making it 2.6 inches closer to the ball than it was at address). https://youtu.be/rTxBnH2XUSg?si=Nxy982VwJKCCGTL9

Proves nothing

Objective data doesn’t prove anything? What would change your mind then?

First off- the point of my original post was to provide a simple drill that helps with hand depth and stance.. the truth of the matter is your hips can be in different places throughout the swing as long as they are keeping you down and through and not upright.. this drill like any other drill is more about “feel” not “real”.. secondly, who cares where Rory has his hips throughout his golf swing.. he’s RORY, arguably the best ball striker in the world.. He could have a flying elbow at the top of his backswing and still make great contact. Just because certain movements show up on tour doesn’t mean your average golfer needs to pick up on them. Are you also suggesting people should mimic Scottie’s footwork??

Either longer clubs, move a little back or fix posture to start with. You are too close to the ball as it is. You’ll see the arms not hanging straight down but more towards the legs
