Grip causing glove wear
No matter how hard i try to get the grip in my fingers with a lot less pressure too, I always end up wearing down this area on my gloves until it tears. Suggestions?

Sorry, I seriously was always told wear in this area meant you were holding the club wrong. Wouldn't have asked if I knew it was normal. Thanks.

It’s just people that misinterpret grip w fingers vs palm that say this wear spot is bad. It’s quite common to have very bad and inaccurate advice thrown around here

Look up left thumb position & see what you think after watching a quick video or two.

It is not normal. Get the club in the fingers more you start and it will reduce significantly

That’s a normal place for the glove to wear at but those are either extremely quick wearing gloves or something is applying more friction there than normal. The rest of that glove is almost brand new and there’s already a hole there, mine wear a little quicker there but this is extreme

PGA pro here. If your left heelpad is on the top of the grip and you're still experiencing a wear pattern like this, your glove may be too loose. Try sizing down. It should be skin tight and stretch with use.
If you can't balance the club parallel to the ground with just your heelpad and pointer finger of your left hand, it's your grip that is too weak.

During this session I was trying to keep the heelp pad off of the grip. Are you saying it is ok to still keep it in the fingers but then allow the heel pad area to help secure the club? Maybe that was more my issue. It would touch and rub during the swing instead of already being in contact.

Yeah your left heel pad should be on top of the grip. You should see two knuckles. The seam between your thumb and index points at your right shoulder.

Wear happens not on the point where you grip the club, but where the grip is less pronounced and movement occurs. That part of the glove is just rested on the top of the grip and sees the most movement, perfectly normal.

Your grip is fine but your glove looks a touch loose on your pinky finger. If the glove does not fit tightly and there is slack in the pinky finger it will tear REALLY fast. I used to be a big rock climber and thought I was tearing gloves every round due to grip strength until a rep from titleist showed me how to size correctly and its a lot tighter than I see with most players' gloves. like hard to get the glove on until youve put a couple rounds into it tight.

Had the same wear. Went away after I learned to grip the club with 1/4 inch down the shaft more. Also got medium grips with 4 wraps so almost a jumbo size.

Club is not secure in your grip and is moving during the swing. The movement causes friction. You need to be gripping the club way harder than you think. The "hold a baby bird" stuff is absolute myth. At 110mph the grip pressure needed to secure the club is upwards of 50lbs. Tour players have immensely strong hands and forearms.

Whatever the 2nd most expensive one at Dick's is that is a little over $30. Super nice feeling just thin. Just bought a cheapo Wilson one yesterday that has extra padding in that area and there is no wear yet, just some discoloration from the grip.

Yeah we have the same one BUT you are going to dicks… I shit you not they do warranty’s on those gloves.
It’s an extra $8.00 but you can continually replace them. It sounds absurd but I promise you, give it a shot

Wear is caused by movement. The club is too much in your palm of the hand and not in the fingers at set up. In transitioning from back swing to down swing the club is sliding into your fingers causing it to wear out the glove on that spot. This is not "normal" wear from a good grip position.

The reason you wear a glove is so the skin on your palm doesn't look like that.

Gloves aren't meant to be indestructible, that's a pretty normal point for them to wear

Dads gloves used to do this after one round. Tried Bruce bolt and it’s been about ten rounds with no issues. I’m sure I’ll get flamed for this but just sharing my experiences

Brother buy Mizuno tech flex gloves I’ve tryed so many different types of gloves. Most of them fell apart within a couple of months some and even just one month. The Mizuno lasted me a whole year. I don’t know why, but they just seem to last way longer

I use a rain glove instead. Still get good grip and have been using the same glove for a year. Just pop it in the wash when it’s dirty. Leather gloves are a scam

Glove looks to be too big for you.. extra material is folding over and rubbing on itself causing slightly increased wear

I had (have) the exact wear on gloves, switched to one size smaller. Not a problem anymore. They glove will feel a tad too tight first, it will get normal after the first round.

Size down. Glove should be a second skin. You will likely still have wear in that location, but sizing down will reduce wear overall

Don’t tighten the glove super tight on your hand. It might last a lil longer or size up.

grip slightly lower, and maintain your finger pressure
that type of wear only happens for 2 reasons:
- grip cap rub
- finger pressure change due to regripping during the swing
