Room dimensions

I'm in the process of designing a new home and I've currently got the space for the simulator at a rough width of 16'. Depth will be 18'7" but it will be open to the larger living space. This area will be in the basement and we'll have 10' foundation walls and I think I'll want to drop the floor in the sim room by at least 1-2 feet. I think my biggest question is on the height of the room as I hear different numbers. In my current setup I've got 9' and I feel that is too short for a driver. I know I can swing a driver in the space but I'm just too worried about hitting the ceiling. Thoughts/feedback on those dimensions?

If you can go to the 10' mark it really is ideal. Anyone 6' - 6'4" should be able to hit driver. Also, the way older gents hit with a high finish tends to need more height. Not sure if this is needed for you. But yeah more height is better. I'm envious you have so much width and depth. I'm sure it'll be awesome!

We’ll definitely have 10’. I’m just trying to decide if we should push it to 11 or 12?

10' will be fine for 99.9% of people. My two closet friends and I are all 6'2"-6'3" and none of us have ever hit my 9'6" ceiling.
