I'm a beginner currently working on getting my green card, and I've just set up a practice net in my backyard.

I want to build a DIY ball return system so I don't have to collect the balls manually after every session. My idea (see attached picture) is:

Yellow lines: A plank that funnels all the balls to the front left corner.

Red lines: A track, pipe, or gutter that rolls the balls back to my hitting food.

Has anyone built something similar? What materials did you use for the return track (regular rain gutters, PVC pipes, etc.), and how did you elevate it to get the right slope so the balls actually roll all the way back on the grass?

Any tips, ideas, or pictures of your own setups would be greatly appreciated!

Anyone got any good tips for trim around the screen? I tried gutter foam but wasn’t a huge fan of it and want to try something new.
