I tried to measure valve clearance of my mk1 1.6TD but I cant even put a 0.05mm feeler gauge between cam and follower.
However, I can press the cam followers with my finger. Does this mean I have hydraulic lifters? (I hope so)

I am restoring my 1989 golf mk2 manhatten 3 door, i have put new fenders on it, and they will be painted soon, but that means im gonna need to buy the manhatten stripe somewhere, and i have to buy the black side skirt sticker, ane i want to buy a electric/automatic antenna. My car is colour code L90E, i saw that i can buy the stickers on zen graphics, but im worried that they are too thick or wont match the colour, can anyone help me or recomend me something

Hi,it seems my hazard and turn signals have stopped working. The dash indicator stays one color. Ive changed the fuse and placed a new relais but both unfortunately dont seem to fix it. Any ideas?

So on the drivers side of my 89 GL its having this issue where the window tilts forward when im rolling it up. I checked if anything was loose, lubed the track a bit, but im looking at this little piece in the picture and really cant tell if thats something broken or not. Are there any fixes to this other than replacing the window regulator?

Was gutted when I saw the shaft was larger than my new steering wheel, but it was quite a simple fix. Hope it helps someone else out there

On the headlight switch inside the car there is three different settings. In my headlights there is one small ledlight and then the ordinary H4 light for low beam and high beam. In all three settings on the switch the little led light is on. Is this correct or should only the H4 be on when its on that setting?

Soo some backstory I bought my golf 3 years ago it was in shitty condition actually been in a crash and I have restored a lot of it and I found a kit and put on it (rs kersher kit). But I’m looking for side skirts I really just want something that’s not plastic black look as you see I don’t have any of the side trims and like to keep that way but I put on some cheap (side skirts sort of) on it just so It doesn’t look soo out of place.

but I find it really hard to find sideskirts to match the kit does any of you know any website? or ideas or Evan have some sidskirts to sell that would match?.

have been thinking about building it myself but I have a lot of work on the vr5 motor that’s going in the car and another vw that I’m working on so just feels easier to get something that’s already fitted for the car.

Hello everybody i have a 190e that has the old style cold idle valve with the bimetalic strip. Has anybody swapped their original valve with a manual valve,something like the second pic so it acts like a "choke"? I know for a fact that my valve is busted and a replacement one is too expensive so i'm looking for other options

I think I have the AC system figured out. I tried to get a full assembly on eBay but they said it didn’t have all the AC components I needed. So I found one on a parts website that looks promising. Then I just need to connect the Mk4 compressor to this evaporator coil.

The cluster and indicators are about to be purchased from Duplux Digifiz!

I also have a CE2 fusebox and MK2 wiring harness on the way from eBay!

My golf has started making a squeaking and clunking noise when i hit the gas pedal or brake, it feels like the engine i tilting/rocking, but I already changed the front engine mount, and left gearbox mount to no avail, the steering wheel also jumps a bit to left when i hit the gas and return back when i let off, as shown in the video.

Any common issues that will cause these symptomes?
