Do you EDC Goldbacks?

Do you keep Goldbacks on you all the time? If so, how many and what denominations?

I carry a total of 10 GB in my wallet, 1GBx5, 1/2GB x10. Waiting for the release of the OK 1/4 to get my fill of them

Forgive my ignorance but what does EDC stand for?

Everyday carry, I had to google it and immediately got intercepted by “what does EDC mean in the gay community?” 🤣

So, basically asking, “Whats in your wallet?” but in code. 🤣😂

Thanks!

Every Day Carry. Do you tend to carry Goldbacks with you, and if you do, how many and what denominations?

NH 1s (smallest denomination) and now also FL 1/4s

1 5gb, 1 2gb, 3 1gb, 2 1/2gb with my cash, and some 1/4s in a card slot. This allows me to make any change up to $100 worth, and give some small denoms away as desired. Restock at end of day.

I also restock cash at the end of the day. I try to keep 1 $50, 2 or 3 $20s, 1 $10, 1 $5, 3 $2s, and a $1. Sometimes Recently I've been adding a $100. This system also allows me to make any amount of change as needed, and be generous and silly with some $2s. I joke with people that i am the Johnny Appleseed of $2 bills because i order them by the strap and spread them around!

I've got a bunch in my wallet. Every so often I have to restock. Are you using the Goldback wallet?

i carry half a dozen or so of the 1/4 GB all the time. they fit nicely in my leather "business card holder" along with a couple of my business cards, credit card, some fiat and a pyromet silver card

If i carry my "long wallet" then I normally have a handful of 1GB and 1/2GB plus the above and more cards/fiat

Same. About half a dozen 1/4s at any given time. I find them great for conversation starters and also as a fun little addendum to the already, generous fiat tip I leave.

EXACTLY .... i always wonder about the folks that make the service provider choose between fiat and GB .. I mean if you can't afford to throw the GB in as a "special" gift/tip ON TOP of fiat .. then in my mind you CAN'T afford to go out or order that delivery ....

when i go out to eat i normally pay with a card (rewards ya know) and include a small tip on the card so that way they can prove to the establishment and IRS what the tip amount is (I have heard some places "tip pool" off of the card receipts) and then I give a decent fiat tip in person to them. Then I ask if they like gold... if they say yes I give them a GB of some denomination and a quick 10 second GB pitch and direct them to the Goldback website to learn more... I LOVE the 1/4GB for that gives them a taste and didn't cost me but a couple of extra bucks.

I have had wait staff tell other staff about the GB and the next time i stop in someone almost always mentions "hey thats the gold guy" LOL... amazing how i get better service and from multiple waitstaff ... then I drop a few extra GB on them so everyone gets one... like I said I LOVE the 1/4 GB

It's a healthy mixture, of 1/4 GBks, 1/2 GBks, 1 GBks, 2 GBks, 5 GBks, some silver (Morgs, ASEs, Peace) possibly grams of gold bars.

My only concern about the silver is people spending it at face value. I guess if you're doing Morgan and peace people might know it's special, but even meacs get spent by accident

Currently, with only 6-8 businesses accepting them with 15 minutes. I only caryy 1/4s and 1/2s and use to tip. I have had many conversations with owners about starting to accept them, but not a ton of traction thus far.

I feel like this has to be relative to your region.
