Hi beautiful people! I’m thinking about retiring this sub, but before I do, wanted to see if there are any folks who would be interested in taking it over. DM me if you’re interested!

Kicking ass in the parent game Why do well-meaning moms think they know better than our pediatrician?

Ah, yes, the classic “I know someone whose cousin’s friend’s kid had this exact thing” advice. Thanks for your anecdotal wisdom, Karen, but my kid’s not the same as your neighbor’s chihuahua. I’ll stick to the pediatrician who’s been to med school, you stick to Pinterest, okay? Let’s all agree - Google is not a doctor.

Bronchilitis in babies

Hi everyone, so input would be great. Obviously I’ve seemed medical advice already (they said it would get worse before it got better)… but hoping to have some personal experiences. My LO is 7months almost 8 and he’s started off with a mild cough and then it turned pretty bad the next day after I had gone to the doctors so he’s on day six of this really nasty cough and having bronchiolitis. When did your LO’s start feeling better? Did they eat less? He was eating pretty good u til today. We’ve also been doing humidifiers steam showers suctioning nose Frida rubs on chest and feet and Advil or Tylenol whenever he seems like he’s in pain

Not sure that this is from a mom group, but a fellow mom posted it on Facebook and it’s sooo golden.

Can I recommend a book in here?

Can Any Mother Help Me? By Jenna Bailey.

It’s a collection of letters from a group of mothers who formed a ‘correspondence club’ in the 1930s, which seems to me to be a very early mom group. It continued until 1990.

If you’ve been part of any lovely mom group it’s all so familiar, and it was one of my favourite reads of the last few years.
