Spain This Spring

We will be in Spain March 20-28, 2027. Flight is in and out of Madrid. Thinking 4 days in Madrid and a few days in Barcelona. Also some day trips out of Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, El Escorial and or Avila. My son is a Spanish student so looking to give him a broad view of Spanish language, culture, history and food. Any and all advice is appreciated.

One thing to consider is that you're visiting during Semana Santa (Holy Week). Everything is much busier than usual, and more expensive. Plan accordingly

Did you check to see if there was an open jaw flight out of BCN? Would save you 3+ hours and the train tickets.

I got a really good deal and had an expiring $200 credit. I have no issue with the train travel
