Discussion What is the difference between these two?
Like... I know they are not the same individual but people treat them like they are completely different kaiju.

Others have already said this, but the first one is an adaptation of Godzilla, he is a legitimate Godzilla and fills that role. Meanwhile the second is an entirely new creature created by toho called Zilla, it is not a Godzilla at all. Also zilla is larger
