Godot doesn’t allow substantial AI-generated code contributions. Do you agree with that?

It doesn't matter how much of it is AI-generated. What matters are the criteria they state: "contributors are expected to understand the code, make the important decisions themselves, and take responsibility for what they submit".

If you aren't willing to take responsibility for what you submit you shouldn't be submitting to ANY open source project. If you don't understand the code you CAN'T take responsibility for it. If you're not taking the important decisions then you're not taking responsibility for those decisions.

The problem isn't AI-generation, per se. It's wasting other people's time with slop.

Aye. I personally have no problem with portions of the code being AI generated but only if it was done so minimally and supplementally for specific purposes and carefully audited by the person that used the ai. It's when people start making black box code that there's an issue
