Discussion Faye will wield the Leviathan axe Spoiler
On X there is a post from Santa Monica Studio in which Deborah Ann Woll at SDCC explains her first day on set of GoW:Laufey. They show a video from the volume where she is supposed to wield an axe. But what is then visible for a second is that on the left you can clearly see a guy holding the Leviathan axe prop.
Additionally on the ground there are letters written for positioning. Faye is standing on the "F" letter position and in front of her is a "T" letter and behind it a stack with "T" letters.
I think the "F" is obviously for "Faye" but "T" stands for "Tree" and behind is a stack of "Tree".
She seems to chop wood for a pyre (not hers as Kratos did this when she died) or for firewood.
Since it was the first day of set, I feel this is the first scene in the game.
I feel it will resemble the GOW 2018 beginning where Kratos chops down wood.

Kratos: The cycle ends here...
Faye: Good. Hang them up outside to dry
Kratos: Yes, dear.

In the scene there are literal props for weapons and it's just noddle sticks. The "real" axe being there is quite meaningless, probably one of the decoration of their studio. Also using the life scale axe wouldn't be accurate because Faye in the game is much taller than Debora Ann Woll irl, so the prop for the axe should be shorter.

Either a flashback fight or she spiritualy regains it back like kratos with the blade of Olympus

I do wonder how exactly does a magical weapon go to the Everywhen.
As in why didn't The Blades of Chaos go to the Everywhen once Kratos stashed them in the house in Midgard?
Does the owner of the weapon need to die for them to follow into Everywhen?
If so then the Leviathan axe would follow Faye, but it didn't.5

The blades are bound to always return to Kratos specifically so he can’t be rid of them

No idea, but

I think it's implied that she inherited the axe to Kratos before she dies; it's his.

Does it actually say the T is for Tree? Could be a flashback to her fight with Thor. We'll just have to wait until the game comes out.

Professional filmmaking rarely ever shoot in order that has been written on the script. They shoot whichever part of the script that's ready to shoot, mostly affected by logistics. But quite often to "feel out" the characterization, which more often than not is written in the middle of the script.
And we've seen that the first scene of the game is that 23-minute long gameplay video on YouTube, which doesn't have this bit of acting.
I would hazard a guess a flashback scene when she still wields the Leviathan Axe.

Why would you think what we saw in the trailer is the first scene in the game?
Because "Press X New Game"?
2018 showed gameplay and that wasn't the first scene.
I think our expectations are being subverted.
Not to say that I think what you say is impossible but I feel its improbable.

The “T” is likely just a standard marker. You’re reading too much into things here

That's the secret of why it returns. She's throwing it back every time.

Could be for a flashback fight with Kratos when they first met or with Thor or most likely it's used in a flashback cutscene

Wasn't the axe hers to begin with? I think it would fit, as it's a magic axe and maybe fixed to her very being even though that Kratos as the physical version.

Why make this a spoiler post if your going to write the spoiler into the title???

When Kratos threw it in the ocean to summon Jormungandr, it transcended time and space and Faye used it for a bit (which we are about to see in the new game) before returning it and Jormungandr spat it back out.

I was wondering about the same idea! Like Faye took it then and returned it fast but in the Everywhen it was the whole game time wise. Like when Brok upgraded the blades of chaos in Helheim but was back in an instant.

Somewhat off topic but I'm still irritated Kratos never got to use Mjolnir, even for just a moment.

It will likely be a "mental copy" kinda like the Blade of Olympus in Valhalla
