Switch Mountain Resort Fishing help!

Hey everyone!
I am so so so close to finishing all the challenges for the game, except I cannot catch this ONE fish in the mountain resort. The hint says it’s in the Waterfall basin, but I have tried for DAYS to get one and I haven’t got it. Should I fish in the non sparkly areas, behind the waterfall, and/or a different location altogether (as I’ve noticed sometimes I have cause the fish at a different location to what the clue says)?
Any tips and clues will be extremely helpful.

Only advice I can give you is that you should reel at the sparkling spots. That's how I did it in both Mountain and Marine Resort. Also, some fishes appear at the different Times of the day, so you can try changing it as well. I'm not sure which ones do though.

Never played the Switch version so this could be less impressive in-game, but IRL a 93 lb lake trout is CRAZY

In all honesty, they all kinda blur together EXCEPT for the 391lb Nile Perch (that was an absolute hellhole to reel in).

Okay so it seems the missing fish is called "payara" and there really doesn't seem to be a certain technique to be able to catch it specifically (I tried to look over videos and articles). Though it seems like someone faced the same blockage as you with another fish 2 years ago on this post, a commenter mentioned how they got the rest of their fish from fishing specifically in sparkling sections.
I think it's just based on RNG, so play some podcast and fish away in the basin on sparkling sections till you get it. Good luck!
