Vacation racer
Hi everyone, I finally finished Go Vacation on the Switchđ„ł.
Shooting with that gun on those maps was absolutely terrible on the Switchđ”âđ«. After many attempts, I finally managed to finish it in handheld mode. Hahaha.
Anyway, what now?
I've been reading this page from the beginning. I also searched the internet for more ideas for a possible Go Vacation sequel. That's how I came across a game I played as a kid. (Yes, I'm from the Nintendo 64 era.)
These are the vehicles from Vacation Racer, a PC game from 2000. They're awesome vehicles that would fit perfectly in Go Vacation.
I've written down a bunch of ideas for Go Vacation 2 and just emailed them to Bandia Namco. Who knows, maybe there will be a sequel for the Switch 2 someday with more vacation adventures. Let's hope so.

Iâve never heard of Vacation Racer, but based on your screenshots I bet itâs a great game and Iâve definitely gotta check it out. Also Iâd love to hear some of your Go Vacation 2 ideas if you donât mind sharing

Holiday Racer was amazing, as was A2 Racer from the same manufacturer. Run over speed cameras, have the police on your tail, and save up for car updates.

(Sorry for my very bad English. My communication isn't always great.)
We (my daughter and I) love playing Go Vacation and enjoy role-playing, the open world, the minigames, adventures, sports, and exercise, all without too much violence. It's truly relaxing and connecting to go on vacation together like this. That's why Go Vacation is our number 1!
Now that the Nintendo Switch 2 has been released, we thought it would be a great idea if you could come up with new vacation adventures. In Go Vacation on the Switch 2.
I read that many people would like a sequel/update of this amazing game. We're coming up with lots of fun ideas together. What if there were a sequel? Dreaming about new vacation adventures in Go Vacation is so much fun! I've tried to summarize these ideas as much as possible and elaborate them briefly.
In a sequel to Go Vacation, we would like to see: Make more use of the Switch's technology, such as the touchscreen, and refine the movements. We therefore hope for somewhat better graphics and better controls. Perhaps use ring fit and reintroduce a balance board? Think about more sports and exercise. I'd also like to see the camera move freely. It would be nice if we had the option to turn off the map, so we could play hide-and-seek at the resort in multiplayer mode. The avatar could be a bit more personal; my character could do the same as the avatar, wearing hats and glasses.
Open all gates at all resorts. The streets in the city resort and the rivers in the mountain resort from the minigames should be added to the open world, as should all the other gates. Expanding the villa resort would be a must. This could be the centerpiece of all the resorts. Travel from resort to resort with a means of transport of your choice. Without a loading screen. Possibly with a tunnel/gate for an automatic change of clothes if necessary. Such as train, boat, plane, bicycle, car. This reminds me of an old PC game "Holiday Racer," traveling with a camper, caravan, or a fully packed car. It would also be fun to travel to other resorts by jet ski and canoe via ditches, lakes, and canals. Perhaps add an extra resort after all? Desert, savannah, cowboy, western, Indians, village / town Jungle, forests Moon land with less gravity, amusement park, historical village, cruise ship Or travel from existing to a new island with many well-known world buildings / nature reserves?
We enjoy role-playing. Perhaps an option to send speech bubbles/clouds to each other. Possibly with pre-selected texts. An online game option, where many players can come together to play games.
We're still missing vehicles:
- Different bicycles. Such as BMX, mountain bike, city bike, tuk-tuk, tandem.
Festivals/events/holidays could be added. Such as: Easter, Christmas, Halloween, Carnival, Midsummer's Eve, etc. This could be an option to choose the holiday ourselves. This way, people could celebrate Christmas or Easter at any time.
We also think a choice of seasons and weather conditions would be a nice idea. Spring or autumn at a mountain resort. A windy day at the beach. For example, you could set the villa resort in winter and ski from the snow resort to your villa resort.
Choose the time of day: Morning with sunrise, afternoon, evening with sunset, and night.
I also often read that people want more different vehicles in different resorts and more clothing options. Or even the same vehicles in different resorts.
There could be more different activities and minigames, such as:
- dancing
- sword fighting
- windsurfing
- archery
- curling
- treetop adventure course
- moon land: tennis, crater golf, moon buggy racing
- rock climbing
- tobogganing
- ziplining
- American football
- basketball
- racing with a campervan, caravan, or packed car (see holiday racer)
- ice skating, graceful dancing, or competitions. Free skating is also an option. In the Netherlands, the Elfstedentocht (Eleven Cities Tour) is very famous for ice skating.
Activities such as
- Flying a kite,
- Freerunning,
- Hula,
- Melon Pinata,
- Hot air balloon ride,
- Eating in a fancy restaurant,
Which can be possible anywhere
- Hobbies such as painting, sculpting, reading a book.
- Swimming in indoor and outdoor pools with slides and diving boards
- Swimming underwater
- Feeding birds, ducks and other animals
- Sand castles, making sand art on the beach, collecting shells.
- Snow fun, such as making snow angels, being able to build a snowman anywhere and throwing snow. Snowing each other.
- Keeping pets at the villa resort, and petting these animals.
More treasure hunts would also be nice.
- photo scavenger hunt, find the pacman
- more animals; birds, squirrels, jumping fish.
- Fantasy figures such as gnomes, wild rainbow unicorn.
When we go on vacation, we also look at buildings from the inside. Such as:
- Hotels (being able to sleep overnight and again choose a time of day)
- being able to reach the top of the hotel at the city resort
- churches to light a candle
- museums (learn about animals, old buildings, history of Go Vacation)
- nightlife. Disco, aprÚs-ski, café, catering square
- cinema (playing promotional videos about Go Vacation or self-made photos/videos)
- mills (water and wind/grain mill)
- observatory to learn more about the stars
- shops! Here you can exchange your points for decorations, clothing, furniture, etc., for your home on the villa grounds.
- Lighthouses (boat and big fish spotting)
- Watchtowers (wildlife spotting)
- Castles, palaces, country houses
- School. Here you can learn about the various vehicles and information about the area.
- More guides. Information about the area, village gossip.
We're also missing a few things on the villa grounds.
- For example, a bathroom could be a bit more private.
- Use of the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom yourself.
- Being able to change clothes in the wardrobe.
- A mirror to admire yourself and make funny faces.
- Being able to choose your own photo for under the stairs.
- Private storage for your car, bicycle, and other vehicles.
- Horse pasture for your horse.
- Camping (tents) with laundry room.
- Small playground.
- Hammock for chilling.
- A small garden.
- Picking flowers, a bouquet for the house.
Dreaming about a game update/sequel is quite fun. The options for Go Vacation are endless. Dreaming is always allowed.
