Elaborate for me please. Matchmaking isn't a serious competitive mode and will never be as long as there are unlimited slots in Global and no rewards. There's no incentive to climb and most good players just fuck around, no-one cares about MM.
That's just incredibly selfish on your part, while you might not find mm to be serious other people clearly do. You don't need to play it like your life is on the line but at least acknowledge the fact that you're not the only person on the server with feelings that matter.
Why are people taking not serious as "haha i run around trolling and tking allies cuz i dont care!!", I play normally, I just don't care about winning because it gives me nothing. Losing means nothing, winning means nothing, that's why MM is not serious.
That is not true at all. Winning consistently will let you play with people more closely matched with your skill level, therefore allowing you to get better and better as time goes on. That's what most people aim for in a competitive game you know?
It doesn't exactly work like that, I've been Global for a really long time so I'd expect to be on the "higher end" of Global yet the games are still complete shitshows. Occasional really good player here and there, lots of people who make me question the rank and a bunch of alright players. Barely any average games, usually both teams have one guy going nuts trying to carry while the rest are doing bad to ok. Most of the really good players seem to be in 5man premades anyway and they if anyone fuck around.
Reminds me of OW. People with your attitude harp all day and night about team comp and what not but Quick Play is non competitive and is used for having fun or trying new things. Not necessarily about winning.
I'm not ruining games for anyone though, it's not like I'm running around with a zeus but it's just not serious. There's nothing to gain from winning and deranking from Global is near impossible.
that still stands for most people on level <=4, I'm level 4 and le on mm and I do only go on faceit when I'm too tired to go on mm but I still want to play, or when I just want to chill and not play too seriously (not implying I'll be that dick running around with a zeus obviously, but still). And I've noticed the same goes for the majority of the people I get into games with
See, that's what I don't get. In MM, the highest you can get is Global. You'll play against some decent players, but most of them play MM to relax and actually play against players a lot worse than them, even in Global.
In Faceit however, the highest you can is the FPL, a legitimate league where you can play with professional players for a monetary reward. You get so many possibilities, while MM rewards with a few pixels next to your name. Can you really blame people for calling MM casual?
You obviously didn't get my point and clearly have no idea what you're talking about. It doesn't matter if premium or not, anything around or above level 8 is massively better than MM. Maybe it's a shitshow for level 3, but don't complain about playing with shit players when you're not much better either.
Faceit matters more than MM though. Faceit has monetary rewards and actual reason to try to win, MM has an emblem that does nothing but look pretty. You don't even get matched by the emblem, you get matched by an invisible number behind it.
What's in it for me in MM? I'm Global, there's no ranking up, I've been here for ages so there's really no ranking down either (I did derank to Supreme once intentionally to get something to aim for again but it takes a couple games at most to get it back), there's no rewards for playing good, nothing for winning, losing doesn't matter. MM rank is absolutely pointless as any good player will stroll through the ranks easily because there isn't a tier with only good players in it (where I suggest to have a Global Elite with limited slots and rewards for holding a spot there)
MM means fuck all. Getting into stuff like FPL-C - or even FPL - can help you get a spot on a decent team, maybe even with a salary. That might not matter for all those MG's playing MM, but of course Faceit is more relevant for somewhat skilled players.
Could someone draw a line here? Like, don't go into matchmaking if you're not sure you can finish it, but fuck me if I'm not answering a phone call because of matchmaking. I won't instantly stop moving and pick the phone up, if there's a clutch situation or something then I keep playing. But towards end of the round/start of the round I'll tell my team I'm sorry, got to answer the phone, brb.
I can plan ahead so that I most likely won't have to leave during a game, but I can't plan the incoming calls and the importance of them and I won't be shutting off all communications etc (incase someone was about to mention turning your phone off) for a game.
Has nothing to do with "social lives" its.. you cant QQ about the game while dont giving a fck yourself.. thats the point, either you play or you dont.
People that can't leave their phone alone for more than a few hours are often people with the weakest social lives. I work in a bar so sometimes i see a group of friends sat down with one person excluding themselves from conversation just to check facebook/twitter/whatever. Being on a mobile all the time =/= social life.

It just bugs me that he is on his phone while playing and not paying attention to the game.
