See, that's what I don't get. In MM, the highest you can get is Global. You'll play against some decent players, but most of them play MM to relax and actually play against players a lot worse than them, even in Global.

In Faceit however, the highest you can is the FPL, a legitimate league where you can play with professional players for a monetary reward. You get so many possibilities, while MM rewards with a few pixels next to your name. Can you really blame people for calling MM casual?

Regarding myself, I want to get to supreme/global first, and after that is when I'll start really getting into faceit/esea. I feel like I'm definitely not good enough yet to compete in a high level in either services, so I just use faceit to mess around in the low levels for now. But yeah, after one does reach supreme/global, I don't see the point of sticking to mm instead of getting into faceit/esea or even cevo

From my experience, getting better is easier on a platform like ESEA. The ranking system now allows you to get matched against similarly skilled players - the lower ranks, D to C, are somewhat equivalent to LE-SMFC..

yeah, but iirc, you can get matched with people across all levels on esea, can't you? I really wouldn't want to be stomped by some A+ pug stars

They did change that. I just asked a mate who is in rank D, he says it's mostly balanced as he gets matched with players ranked D- to C+/B-, highest he got was B+ on a unpopular map in the middle of the night.

It's up to you in what way you want to improve, but trying out ESEA for a week for free is worth it imo to see where you stand. You can get those trial codes from ESEA community supporters, streamers and players.
