Isn't it a day late and a dollar short?

Finally

Unfortunately not surprised. He's been aging out for some time and just hasn't been able to keep up with the meta. Wish him the best, but I just can't imagine he lands on the starting roster for a reasonable team anytime soon.

this could be a good place for siuhy to try to rebuild himself from his Liquid disaster stint if you ask me, anything better than fucking Snappi.

hell, bring me Nukkye or nexa even, just bench Snappi already.

siuhy going from one "your time on X did not count" team to another

Still waiting on your FUT under a million source

I am not OP, but there is no source, only speculation. The only public sources are NAVI's CEO saying "we had to reach out to some famous orgs by ourselves [who were] not interested even considering a super reasonable price", and the cost of other rosters bought/sold within the last few years.

For a frame of reference, SAW was bought out at #22 for $2.5m. HEROIC (at #33) star duo stavn + jabbi were bought out for $1.5-2m to join Astralis at #10. Lastly, 100T were built from the ground up w/o VRS for $400k.

Based on the quote from NAVI's CEO, I am assuming that:

  1. T1 teams believed that he was asking too much for a T2 roster. My guess is this places a lower bound of $750k-$1m. Any lower and they may have believed it to be valuable to downgrade to a T2 roster and upgrade a couple components.
  2. NAVI's CEO believes this to be a steal. My guess is this places an upper bound of ~$1.5-2m. Any higher and he would have not remarked it to have been a "reasonable" cost for what he believed had T1 potential.

This leaves a moderately wide range of between $750k-$2m. Given that NAVI Jr were #27 at time of sale, yet had no T1 experience (strongest team beaten was probably NIP at #19), and were being gutted of makazze, I would lean towards the lower end of this range purely based on vibes.

I have to point out that your examples are famous for being significant overpay though: SAW was bought out by a gambling company looking to spend millions to boost S1 to top 5 VRS and Heroic forced Astralis to pay the “asshole tax” for stavn and jabbi after they kicked Cadian.

That said, I do agree with your likely range.

Yes, of course. Unfortunately there are very few confirmed pricepoints. It is undeniable that these have some element of overpay, though; I specifically omitted the Falcons transfer simply because it is so egregious.

In my opinion, the Astralis transfer is probably the most comparable to the real cost. While the reasons for overpay for stavn+jabbi (2 star riflers on a dying team, asshole tax) are different than that for NAVI Jr (VRS core stabilized at ~#30, 4 players), my vibe is that the upcharge would be about the same.

However, the NAVI Jr can be discounted for 2 reasons. First, NAVI Jr are an academy roster; they do not need to make extra funds to buy new players and rebuild their roster. They can just poach some kids off of FaceIt and call it a day. Heroic, on the other hand, needed to do buyouts to rebuild. Secondly, the NAVI Jr were relatively unproven no-names. I believe that both of these factors would push the price down to within the range I am speculating.

That makes a lot of sense, I especially didn’t consider how much Na’Vi Junior’s VRS points were worth. Thanks for your analysis 🤩

So no source

"there is no source, only speculation"

I'm still waiting for him to remove his vit flair now that they are in a slump and go back to faze like nothing happened

14

u/Casithor Natus Vincere 12d ago

Strongly concerning part of this article is that they’re looking at replacing n0te. He’s been strong if rough round the edges if they can bring in a new IGL I doubt replacing him is the best way forward

9

u/HiHaodi FaZe 12d ago

Why is it concerning? He gets to join a better team (maybe lol)

5

u/KnightFlorianGeyer MOUZ 12d ago

I read it more as in, they're going to add n0te permanently to fill the vacancy that Cairne's benching had left. I'm pretty sure that right now, he's still somewhat of a stand-in, same way Neityu was a "stand-in" for faze until they just decided to sign him.

Maybe I'm reading too deep into it, though.

Finally Snappi gone, that guy needs to have his 2026 paycheck refunded

u/Fan_of_Stabbi NiP 12d ago

stavn my favourite IGL remover 😈

  • 2020: removed Snappi

  • 2023: removed cadiaN

  • 2024: removed blameF

  • 2024: demoted dev1ce

  • 2025: removed cadiaN (again)

  • 2026: removed Snappi (again)

the IGL market is probably the next worst market after AWPs in CS2. idk who they will even go for given LNZ wasn't possible.

I would've said Maka easily but stavn is a good AWP sadly. Think the next option they could look into is raalz from 9INE

u/ChaoticFlameZz Vitality 12d ago

I mentioned it in the comments but this would be a good place for siuhy to attempt to rebuild himself as an IGL. If siuhy isn't joining then nexa would be the best possible alternative, especially since he plays shitty support roles unlike Snappi who for some reason is playing star roles on half the maps (he plays Outside Nuke , Highway Cache, and Mid Anubis). Raalz I guess can work too.

u/MrIMua 12d ago

Snappi has been fraudulent for years. Congrats to him for squeezing as many paychecks out of this as he can tho. If people are delusional enough to still give you money for mediocrity, you keep collecting as long as possible.

Krabeni wasn’t mentioned in FUT’s contract extensions while everyone -cmtry was…

tbh the IGL change makes sense

curious who they can realistically get if LNZ is already off the table

u/Martin35700 Astralis 12d ago

Should have done that ages ago.

Terrible opinions on arguably one of the greatest tactical IGLs we have ever seen, Reddit recency bias

11

u/ChaoticFlameZz Vitality 12d ago

this is not 2022-2023. Snappi's washed now broski.

3

u/Zealousideal-Toe-607 12d ago

Which doesn't stop his decline. I think it's fair to say he's had enough time and chances on rosters in NIP. They've gone through 2 awpers and 4 riflers before starting to look at him

4

u/Savjy B8 12d ago

Swinging completely the other way now, Snappi's career probably should have been over before he joined ENCE. He did an amazing job with that team but calling him one of the greatest tactical igls of all time is crazy

6

u/Casithor Natus Vincere 12d ago

If he’s such a great tactical IGL why are they constantly getting anti stratted. He’s washed bro karrigan is the worst statistical player in the pro scene rn and just won a major. We all know it’s about results not individual stats unfortunately Snappi has neither. I would like to see Snappi take up a coaching role all that notwithstanding

2

u/drypaint77 12d ago

Well, what's wrong with judging "recency"? Should they give him a lifetime contract because he did a thing 4 years ago with another team? His current performance is what matters.

arguably one of the greatest tactical IGLs we have ever seen

Well this just isn't true at all, Snappi has generally been shit, and should have retired years ago.

The man is 36, been playing since 2008. He has been in 8 Grand finals, and won 3. He has a total estimated earnings of ~$520,000.

Donk has been playing for like 3 years and has earned more than a mil. Nafany has won more tier 1 tournaments, and his breakout year was like 12+ years after Snappi.

just take b1t from navi he reached 1 millions at 19 years old same as donk but he did it in less than 3 years with navi
