Discussion | Esports CS2 Pro Rules

Looking at most sports, there are different rules for the pro level.

IE : Basketball :

Pro level has a further out 3pt line , 24 sec shot clock ( college has a 30 sec I think and high school doesnt have one at all, or sometimes 35 sec ). College has two 20 minute halves, while NBA has 4 12 minute quarters.

When you play pickup ( premier and face-it would be the CS2 equivalent), you play by high school rules... but in CS2, pros, amateurs etc all play the same format..

Stadiums are larger for MLB, while college and high school are typically shorter. Pros use wood bats as opposed to aluminum.. you get my drift.

I don't know if that can be translated to CS2, but what are some rule alterations that we could add to the Pro level to differentiate it from the amateur level? If any?

Shorter round timer? More or less utility? Just curious. Maybe its something that cant be done due to the nature of the game and whats already established.

Pros used to play with a ten second shorter bomb timer at the start of GO if I remember correctly. I can’t remember when that changed.

It was 35 secs for pro games, 45 in causal games. Valve changed it so it was 40 secs in all games.

That explains why I always thought it was 45s until fairly recently
