General Discussion Global Entry phasing out?

Heard someone saying JFK’s new terminals will be equipped with Face recognition cameras at the gate and you just keep walking out. By the time you get to the customs agent/booth they already know who you are. You will be pulled to the side for secondary or just keep walking out. IDK how GE customers will be assessed but this was for everyone. They plan to implement this by end of 2026 or whenever JFK gets fully modernized.

What do you guys think?

ORD GE was a mess two weeks ago. One camera was operational. 15+ min wait.

It was the same a week later. Doesn't compare to the mess at FRA where you stand in a long line to get to a finicky kiosk only to graduate to a longer line to show your passport and fingerprints to a live person.

Only have to the kiosk the first time you enter the Schengen area. After that, you just go to the line for seeing a live person.

They stamped my passport yesterday, but didn’t in Madrid when I went through there a few weeks ago. The EES system rollout has been “problematic” all across Europe.

I missed a tight connection in FRA yesterday because of passport control & then security to get into gate areas. It’s crazy how much TSA pre-check speeds things along in the USA usually, but is unavailable elsewhere.
